Unfortunately, we don't have server-side integration with Git. The Git option you're seeing was originally added for creating repository host patterns, but it's a bit misleading as it only looks like server side integration.
We are definitely interested in improving our support for Git and hope to make it available soon, but for now, we provide integration through the command-line and GUI client only.
