WS-I Compliance check stalls processing some entries

Hi

I have a set of 8 WSDL and 81 XSD files that have been provided for access to a remote (paid for) web service. I can use Java tools (Axis2's WSDL2Java.bat) to create the proxy class code from these files, but Microsoft tools (wsdl.exe and svcutil.exe) fail.

My suspicion is that the files are not standards compliant, however I am unable to prove that at the moment. It took a while to import the files into a generic SOAPUI project (mix of ANSI and UTF-8 charset files, with strange mixes of quotes and high value chars), but finally I managed it.

However running WS-I Compliance check gets through about 20 entry reference IDs and then stalls. I left it running over the weekend and it didn't progress. Also, when you cancel the task and close the WS-I Compliance window, Java.exe is still executing the task in the background and I have to kill Java.exe process.

I assume there is something in these files that is causing this, but is there anything I can do to persuade WS-I compliance check to complete? Is my firewall blocking anything in SOAPUI?

Or is it fair to say that because the check can't complete, then the provided files are not compliant?

Thanks
