What does 'Require status check' do in the connection settings with Azure devops?

This is in the "Pull request actions" section of the settings.

  • For Azure DevOps, "Require status check" makes a Collaborator review a requirement in the pull request workflow, preventing a merge to the destination branch until a review has been completed.

    From our documentation:

    Status check required

Specifies if Collaborator should enforce status checks for the tracked branches before merging pull requests.

If this option is enabled, you cannot use regular expressions in the Branches to track setting, since this option requires exact name match.
