Re: Zephyr Scale - Is there any way to move tests/cycles/plans etc as opposed to copying via import?
Thanks Josh, I kinda thought that would be the case but wanted to check. The reason for wanting to move is due to a reporting tool we use to show linking between tests and requirements. It looks odd because the tests are in the wrong Jira Project Vs the Requirement so the easy solution would have been to move the tests & cycles but since that isn't possible we will have to handle the issue in the reporting tool or take the hit and spend a day or two duplicating everything in another project accepting that we will lose test history. Possibly a bit of a newbie question but my organisation has a need to move a large number of test cases, test cycles and test plans from one Jira project to a different one. Is this possible in Zephyr Scale? I am trying to avoid having to import everything into the new Jira project and deleting the old stuff as I guess I'd lose any history from the original tests and executions. We can move native Jira issues between projects but can't see a way of doing this in Zephyr Scale 😞 Thanks in advance AlSolved3.5KViews0likes4CommentsRe: Anyone notice anything odd with the graphs in the Zephyr Scale reports?
Thanks for the reply, I have double checked the data and can confirm the numbers (38 test cases added between 18th and 25th) is correct. It is just the weekly view shows that period as 11/04, even if that's week commencing 11th it's still incorrect. If it showed 18/04 for that period I could accept it but I think it's just plain wrong 😞 I don't have any problem with the daily view or the monthly one, they're both correct. Sadly I use this report in my weekly management report and now have to omit or manually augment the date legend or make my own excel report. Defeats the point of having automatic reports in a tool though really. Alec681Views0likes1CommentAnyone notice anything odd with the graphs in the Zephyr Scale reports?
Noticed a bit of a funny today. I've been using the Test Cases Over Time report and find it useful to let management track how many tests are being produced each week however... It seems that for the weekly view, the dates in the graph legend are incorrect. For example we produced 38 new tests last week giving us a total of 426 as of today 26/04/2021. The graph output shows the correct numbers but the date in the graph for last week is 11/04/2021? If i change the report to daily or monthly it is correct, this issue is only seen on the weekly view.   weekly view daily view (correct)   Is this simply a bug or have I done something wrong / misunderstood something? Hi, We are using Zephyr Scale with Jenkins to run our automated tests. Today I noticed something unexpected however. In our Test cycle we have Version 1 of a test but Jenkins actually executed version 2 (latest). I mentioned this to our DevOps guy and he had a look and we realised that when we use the Rest API to get the list of tests from the Test Cycle there is no version number associated with the test cases. So I guess my question is... Is there any way, using the Rest API for us to know what test case version of a test case is in the Test Cycle? Many thanks in advance Al551Views0likes0CommentsRe: Zephyr Scale: Is there an easy way to check what Test Cycles a Test case is used in?
Thank youjfelixI misunderstood and thought it only contained test cycles that have already been executed. Thank you for answering my question, you were very helpful and yes I will book an appointment at my local specsavers 😉 Al1KViews2likes0CommentsZephyr Scale: Is there an easy way to check what Test Cycles a Test case is used in?
Hi, Like the subject says, does anyone know if there's an easy wayto check what Test Cycles a Test Case is in? In Testlink at the bottom of each test case it tells you what test plans use this test, I can't find an equivalent in Zephyr Scale. We had a case where an engineer archived a test case as they didn't think it was needed any more but it broke an automated test cycle we had. How could they have checked? Thanks for your response vpelizza. To be fair this is the answer that I was expecting but had to ask the question in case someone had solved this issue. We did try Zephyr for Jira and frankly, we judged TM4J to meet our needs better than Zephyr, hence the reason we went for TM4J knowing that we'd have an issue between R4J and TM4J. We can implement a solution in house for this issue using the Rest API, but before we do that I wanted to check there wasn't a better solution before we spend man hours fixing this. Many thanks & seasons greetings Alec2.2KViews1like0CommentsLinking R4J Requirements to Zephyr Scale (TM4J) Test Cases
We are using Jira (on our server) with the Zephyr Scale (TM4J) plugin for our Test Cases and R4J plugin for our Requirments management. The issue I have is regarding impact analysis with these two different Jira plugins. It seems that our requirements tool cannot see Zephyr Scale test cases as they're not proper Jira Issue types. The only (somewhat clunky) solution I can see is to use the Jira 'Test Case' issue type as a middle man between the requirement and the test case or to use a tool like easyBI to take data from R4J and TM4J and generate some kind of report, again not ideal. Has anyone else faced this issue? Are there any plans to change Zephyr Scale (TM4J) to use proper issue types? We have both plugins already so need to try and make this work, not willing to buy another plugin. Any advice appreciated Cheers AlSolved2.2KViews0likes2Comments
