I entered this as stated earlier and it will not let me run the script. var myApp = Sys.Process("NetHealthLite").Window("_BaseForm_UltraFormManager_Dock_Area_Top", "*", 1); myApp.Activate(); // To be sure the Windows has the focus and accept control action myApp.Maximize(); Im not sure what I am getting wrong, I also tried running the code snippit and that wouldnt work either. Re: Help with Maximize Action Function Hi, How do I send you the code snippet? Also are you saying that TestComplete will be stopping the recording functionality in a new update? thanks Re: Help with Maximize Action Function Hi, Thanks for the reply, unfortunately the maximise button disappears sometimes and therefore I cannot click it to expand the window, typically I will need to click around the application to try and maximise and because it happens randomly and not all the time im just not sure how I can get this to work using the recording function Thanks Re: Help with Maximize Action Function Hi, Thanks so much for the speedy response. I record, does that make a difference? Because I record where would i enter this information? Thanks Help with Maximize Action Function Hi all, I am a newbie to test complete and automated testing in general. I am currently setting up a Project Suite for a Desktop application built using microsoft.net, the issue I am finding is within the desktop applications sometimes windows will shrink from being maximised to half screen. Because of this when I run my test project sometimes it will fail as occasionally windows will shrink to half screen. Please note I am not a coder therefore are using test complete in its most basic format as that is all i know. I did speak with a developer who advised there is a maximize action function which should make the window maximize before moving on to the next test case. My issue is I dont know how to take this information and put it in place in my testcases, does anyone have any steps for me as i checkedhttps://support.smartbear.com/testcomplete/docs/reference/test-objects/members/window-and-process/maximize-action-window-object.htmlbut it is a bit too technical for me and i worry i may have to code this somewhere but I am unsure where. If anyone could assist that would be fantastic, I am sure I have forgotten some information so please let me know if you need more info. Thanks Re: Script To Automatically Close 'Active' Window Thank you very much - Control F4 closes any active window within the application. I appreciate the response :) Script To Automatically Close 'Active' Window Hi all, I have another question that may sound silly. The application I am testing will open patient records in 2 different ways, half will be maximised view and the other half is a minimised view. Both views have a 'Minimise', 'Maximise' and 'Close' button. My issue is when setting up the automated tests I run into problems as sometimes the window will be maximised and others minimised so when I go to close the window the test case will fail as it is looking for the 'Close' function to be in a specific spot which it is not. What I was wanting to do it run a script to close the window regardless of where it is place on the screen. I figured I could do this using the 'Run Code Snippet' feature but unfortunately, I am not a coder and the developers we use are through an external company. I tried googling and searching on this forum to see if there was a snipit of code for a Microsoft.Net program to execute the close button but I am not finding anything too helpful. I was hoping someone might be able to point me to some information that may help me, If more information is needed or screenshots are needed please let me know. Thank you and I hope my query makes sense. SolvedRe: Testing a Newer Build - Testing Fails Thankstristaanogre- As I mentioned I am very very new to testcomplete and unfortunately didnt know much about the 'namemapping' functionality and how test should be mapped by name and not by the location they are on the screen. I appreciate your response and I am now spending my time reading up on the name mapping function. Regards Testing a Newer Build - Testing Fails Hi, I am a new TestComplete user who has very limited skills when it comes to automating test cases. I have watched as many tutorials as possible however I still seem to struggle with a particular skill and was hoping for some help. Apologies in advance if this is the stupidest question on this forum. I have several automated test scrips set up (to test a Practice Management System), these tests include logging into the system, opening a patient file, navigating to another section and closing the patient file. I have these split up into different individual tests. When I get a new release of this program I edited the test to 'login' to the newest build and kept all sequential test cases after that as normal. I am not sure if this is the correct process as It fails each time. I am not quite sure how to find out the answer to my question as I feel as though if this keeps happening I don't see the appeal of the automation as new test scripts for every function would need to be created for each build, which cannot be possible so I assume I am doing something wrong. Could someone point me in the right direction of an answer? Thanks Solved
