Re: Calling Group of tests, or test items in Script Mode.
Thanks for the replies. Essentially you are correct Martha. All I want is an icon on the desktop (batch file), and when clicked will pop a form with a few different test-plans to choose from (which are hundreds of test items that have been grouped together in various categories). It appears the only real solution here is to either train in the tester to open TestComplete and modify the Test Items Page to check/uncheck what is needed, or I just bite the bullet and manually type in all the different sequences into a few different functions. (But even with that I will have to import hundreds of methods into that Script Unit so I can call it within the button function.) So Ill probably end up doing it the long way. I think Im good on integrating another third party program. Just trying to make it easy for non-technical people to walk up to the machine and simply double click to start the test-plan they need. TestExecute pretty much will do the trick for this by simply opening the project named approprietly, but it is currently running extremely slow and sometimes hanging.. So I may just have to hold off until I can get a faster machine to do it via TestExecute. Thanks for the help everbody as usual!!1.5KViews0likes5CommentsCalling Group of tests, or test items in Script Mode.
I have in my Test Items Page a series of folders each containing Test Items. I.e Login Procedure folder, Navigation Folder, Functional Tests folder etc etc. Am I able to start a group of tests, or test items in Script Mode? I see in the documentation you can call Keyword Tests and such, but I am looking to "Run" the tests of a specific folder from a function in one of my scripts that is attatched to a user form button. //*** Here is my function to spin up the User Form function start(){ UserForms.UserForm1.ShowModal(); } //*** User clicks on the button, and I want it to run a Group of Tests Items function UserForm1_cxButton1_OnClick(Sender){ } Any guidence here? Happens when I do what? I cannot find a way to multiple select the same words to paste over them. Double clicking will somewhat "hightlight" the same words in the function, but it won't "select" them. I imagine if the code editor can hightlight in that way there woud be some hot-key to select.974Views0likes1CommentCode Editing - Multiple Cursor?
Hey All Does TC Code Editor have functionality like Sublime and others to select multiple lines at a time to edit? When I dbl click an object, the others in the function will hightlight as well which is great, but I'd like to be able to paste over that and replace all of them. Hope that makes sense. I have adjusted the code to include the following example let navigate = Aliases.browser.page.nav let navbar = Aliases.browser.page.header if (!navigate.WaitAliasChild('carrier', 5000).Width == 0 || navigate.WaitAliasChild('carrier', 5000).Exists) { Log.Message("carrier exists"); } else { Log.Message("carrier "); } } Even in this case, the test case fails and stops because item does not exist. The function will not go to else1.7KViews0likes3Comments- 1.8KViews0likes0Comments
