Re: Test Execution Report for multiple tests Thanks tristaanogrewrote: Well, two things: 1) There is documentation on the whole thing in https://support.smartbear.com/testcomplete/docs/working-with/extending/script/about.html. There's not exactly a step by step tutorial but the documentation is pretty decent. 2) Putting in a plug: At Connect 2018 in October, I'll be giving a talk/demonstration on creating a script extension. If you'll be there, look me up. mcp111wrote: I looked at your extensions page. Pretty cool stuff!!! How do you write extensions for Testcomplete? tristaanogrewrote: The TestComplete log is exactly as it says.... it is a log of whatever is written out to the log using various log message methods along with the automatic logging built in. Any custom output is up to the end user to write code to achieve. This includes building your own summary portion of the report. Re: Test Execution Report for multiple tests Actually a beautiful test summary report is available out of the box. You just have to run the project suite and choose test summary panel See attached screenshot tristaanogrewrote: The TestComplete log is exactly as it says.... it is a log of whatever is written out to the log using various log message methods along with the automatic logging built in. Re: Test Execution Report for multiple tests Thanks Is there a way to get test summary followed by details out of the box? Marsha_Rwrote: Take a look here for what you want: https://support.smartbear.com/testcomplete/docs/testing-with/log/working-with/index.html Re: Login to the application only if not already logged in But that unnecessarily increases the cycle time if you're running multiple tests in a batch. It's ok if you're only running one test at a time. How to check if a window exists or not? jab4743wrote: Is there an object on the signon screen / initial log in screen that you can check if the object exists? If yes, you know you are logged in. If no, you know you have to log on. BTW. It is a best practice to start and stop your scripts at the same application state - for example - logged off. This ensures when a script starts the application state is in the correct spot. Login to the application only if not already logged in I'm running multiple tests in a batch So for each test at the beginning, I need to check if it is already logged on and only if not logged on then I should login How to write such conditional login? Test Execution Report for multiple tests If I run multiple tests one after another, how can I generate an execution report showing Test Summary Passed Failed Detailed execution report of each test Can I get this kind of format out of the box? SolvedRe: Can the new Testcomplete beta coexist with existing version? I am reading yourTestComplete cookbook Great to meet you sir!!! karkadilwrote: The question was about new beta TestComplete, so yes, it can be used on the same PC together with previous version (at least all previous versions could). However, since this is beta, it is highly recommended not to install it on your working PC. It is better to use a virtual machine or a separate computer. Re: Can the new Testcomplete beta coexist with existing version? No, it clearly recommends to use a VM or separate machine here. I have also talked to the Testcomplete manager and he also says it should be on separate machines ' https://smartbear.com/lp/testcomplete/testcomplete-beta-ai/?utm_source=mkto&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=3691#_ga=2.30968696.678205156.1532495108-1845172152.1529998536 karkadilwrote: The question was about new beta TestComplete, so yes, it can be used on the same PC together with previous version (at least all previous versions could).
