Re: Reading PDF documents where text can't be stripped
I hate when others suggest options I can't use but just in case rolling back to 12.5 is an option for you, the OCR in 12.5 does not require additional licensing and I am told - will be supported again in 12.7. I use the OCR in 12.5 all the time and it seems to be stable.3.9KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Reading PDF documents where text can't be stripped
I have never worked with the PDF functionality. If the PDF functionality is not 'seeing' the text, have you tried using the OCR functionality in 12.6? If OCR 12.6 does not work, you can take a look at the freeware Tesseract but Tesseract takes an enormous amount of set up to get working.3.9KViews0likes2CommentsRe: How to validate the content in PDF File using TestComplete
There are potential issues with OCR logic but have you tried using OCR retrievial of all the text in the PDF and then checking the text returned by the OCR logic to see if it contains the data/text in your excel? The most common issue in OCR is font smoothing - be sure to turn off font smoothing on the machine if you choose to try OCR. You can take a 'picture' of a section of the PDF document and just get the text from that picture. But then you may run into resolution and location changing issues. Best to pull all the text from the document if possible if you use OCR.3KViews0likes7CommentsRe: TestComplete VBA scripting - I want to variablise checking table checkpoints
Another option: You could dynamically set the checkpoint by dynamically determining/creating the Aliases name and sending it to a common function. Something like (in VB): Function Add_Region_To_Store(imagename, AliasesObject, xloc, yloc, widthloc, heightloc) Dim holdscreenregion Dim regionpanelname dim tempregion set holdscreenregion = Regions.CreateRegionInfo(AliasesObject, xloc, yloc, widthloc, heightloc, False) regionpanelname = imagename Regions.AddPicture holdscreenregion, regionpanelname End Function1.2KViews0likes1CommentRe: SSL Security error when running SQL scripts
Not exactly a match to your isssue but I encounteredthis TSL issue in Visual Studio. Microsoft recommended forcing the underlying System.Net ServicePointManager to negotiate downlevel SSL instead of using TLS. They provided a plugin for VS that worked. You will need to research if this is possible in TC.14KViews2likes1CommentRe: TestExecute 12 'dotNET' is undefined using windows task scheduler
Not exactly a solution to your issue but I run TC (12.5)from a bat file via the Task Scheduler and it works fine. When I tried to execute TC/TE directly from the Windows Task Scheduler it did not work. But the .bat file did.1.8KViews0likes2CommentsRe: TestComplete Beta Program: Try AI-Driven Visual Testing!
While 12.6 does use encryption when sending requests to the SmartBear web service, I have privacy concerns that prohibt the sending of test data to outside web locations. I will continue to use the OCR 12.5 extension which assists in the implementation of visual based tests.3.6KViews0likes0CommentsRe: cannot enter data to a <textarea> control
Are you able to manually enter the data in the field? The field states it must be a number. If you are manually able to enter the data, does your script follow exactly the same process of your manual test? Sometimes on an error you have to clear a field prior to entering the correct data.2.3KViews1like3Comments
