Automating Web Application built using Appian
Hi, We have been implementing web applications built using Appian tool. When I try to record or even use Object Identification, I am unable to identify any objects. Has someone tried automating web apps built on Appian, or do we know if TestComplete supports Appian. Thanks.Solved1.1KViews0likes3CommentsRe: AngularJS framework implemented with no unique Id or name mapping for objects
Alex, Its easier to jump onto conclusion without knowing all the facts. As i mentioned in my first post, this was a new project and didnt exist when we picked up this tool for test automation. And I dont agree with your comment that most of the projects blindly use most modern technologies either. I have worked with so many teams and selection of tool always goes through the feasibility test and if its not supporting the applications we are looking to test, its never implemented, no matter if its a open source tool.1.5KViews0likes4CommentsRe: AngularJS framework implemented with no unique Id or name mapping for objects
Thank you guys for all the info. I looked through the application earlier using "Developer Tools" to find any attributes, but didnt find anything unique. This time around I have used attributes & data set in Test Complete and have added screenshots for the same.Still couldn't find any attributes which can be used to identify objects uniquely. For reference, I have added screenshot of application browser too. (Last resort is going to the Dev team and asking them too add some unique values, which can be used for object identification)5.7KViews0likes9CommentsRe: AngularJS framework implemented with no unique Id or name mapping for objects
Thank you for the reply Tristaanogre. I looked at the Object Tree (screenshot attached) too and was unable to find any properties which can serve as unique. And this is an example of only text boxes, there are number of checkboxes with similar issues. My question is, if AngularJS is implemented in such a way, are we only left with option of API testing using tools like Protractor (AngularJS specific), or is there a way to use TestComplete too. Thank you.5.8KViews0likes2CommentsAngularJS framework implemented with no unique Id or name mapping for objects
Our Dev team recently implemented Angluar JS for a new application and they are not using any Unique IDs or name mapping for objects/web elements. With TestComplete, I am unable to identify any of these objects and name mapping is also showing just basic values with indexes (I have added a screenshot for the same) Is there a way to workaround this?Solved6.5KViews0likes15Comments
