(revived topic) *super important feature for mobile automation* yes, that's true I can't work properly with those React Native controls. Anyway, that's good progress. Hopefully, we'll get more updates specifically on mobile. sonya_m Thanks for the update! Re: React Native support! (revived topic) *super important feature for mobile automation* JuliaBernikovasonya_m Hi, I have an update on this situation. After TestComplete update to version 14.70. I'm finally able to see React Native objects and hierarchy on Android. That's incredible progress!!! Finally, mobile automation hassignificant improvements too. That will be a game-changer for us! Very interesting that there is no information about ReactNative in release notes but it works somehowπ So now I have the next question about iOS. Can we expect ReactNative support on iOS too? Maybe in the near future? Re: How to compare image quite independent from screen resolution Hi, If your images are based on coordinates: I think it's impossible. I have a lot of tests with the region checkpoints and the only thing you can do is set a proper resolution and DPI before testing. You should decide what display settings you'll use before the testing (it will be your testing environment) e.g. screen resolution 1080p and scale 125%. So you should use the same display settings on all testing machines. Another option probably is to configure your project to automatically change screen or browser resolution before you start running the tests. It's impossible to compare region checkpoints on different resolutions because once you change your resolution you change your coordinates too (that's because of pixel density) If your images are not based on coordinates: You can use the stretch method to resize your images https://support.smartbear.com/testcomplete/docs/reference/program-objects/picture/stretch.html Re: React Native support! (revived topic) *super important feature for mobile automation* HiJuliaBernikova, Does status "postponed" mean that it's not gonna happen in the near future? As I understand there is no ETA for this, right? Probably it's not an easy task. I hope it will be selected for development one day because ReactNative is getting more important each year. Re: React Native support! (revived topic) *super important feature for mobile automation* HiJuliaBernikova, Finally, people can find a proper answer about the situation with ReactNative. Thank you! This is definitely should be somewhere in TestComplete documentation about the current limitations in mobile testing. π Because our team spent a lot of time investigating that problem. #VoteReactNative Re: React Native support! (revived topic) *super important feature for mobile automation* cunderw when you say "eject the build" what do you specifically mean? Can you explain with more details, please π Developers provide me a simple build, then I have to instrument this build with TestComplete. Why you saying that developers have to eject something???? I instrumenting app like thishttps://support.smartbear.com/testcomplete/docs/app-testing/mobile/android/preparing/instrumenting-apps/about.html according to documentation when you instrumenting the app it recompiles with PatchServices.jar. So what else I have to do? Re: React Native support! (revived topic) *super important feature for mobile automation* cunderw that's true. This apk works for me too but with my apk I able to see only my Device π But it works with other testing frameworks... Re: React Native support! (revived topic) *super important feature for mobile automation* TanyaYatskovskasonya_mthat's why we need an official response on this thread then this feature request will become a valid request. Some people are still confused because of this π Re: React Native support! (revived topic) *super important feature for mobile automation* cunderw "Deploying with expo" what do you mean? In other tools like appium, ranorex and so on I able to see react-native objects. Check my screenshots and you'll see some of the conversations with TestComplete Re: React Native support! (revived topic) *super important feature for mobile automation* cunderw I know that thing too. Also, in your screenshot, it's not an "object browser" it's a "name mapping" repository and it's impossible to read something in your screenshot because it's too blurry. You can simply ask this question for TestComplete team and you'll see that I'm right. Now looks like you don't know how your application is built πWith all respect, I'm sure that your app is not react native
