IE launched through RunAs - working on TestComplete dev, but not finding the browser in TestExecute
We needed to run Internet Explorer as a different user for our tests, so I added a tested app for iexplore.exe and use the RunAs command to open it as the test user. After that, I grab the browser, page, etc. and perform my tests. The problem is, this works just fine on my dev box where I have TestComplete installed. When I try to run the exact same tests on a remote server that has TestExecute installed, it can't find the browser object. This is the code I'm using to connect and to retrieve the browser object which works on my dev box, but not on the server (this is using a C# project with the AutomatedQA dll's): TestedApps["iexplore"]()["RunAs"](domain, username, password, "", url); var browser = Sys["Browser"]("iexplore"); The browser opens up and runs as the test user just fine on both computers, but when I try to get the browser object, it works on my computer but not on the remote computer. On the remote box, it will timeout trying to find the object (Waiting for Sys.Browser(iexplore)) and then close TestExecute. I have my timeout set for 60 seconds just to be sure it has enough time to find it, but it never does. Is there some different way that you need to get the browser object when you use RunAs?1KViews0likes1CommentRe: Infragistics XamGrid - Get Rows
Thanks for the reply! I'm able to get the value and header from the cells now by grabbing the cells like this var firstCell = ...path-to-grid...("XamGridName")["Rows"]()["Item"](0)["Cells"]["Item"](0) I'm stuck trying to figure out how to set the value now, though. SetText() and Keys() throws an exception, and set_Content() doesn't throw anything, but it also doesn't set the value I give to it into the cell. I'm assuming this is because the path I gave above leads to a com_Object and not a SlObject, but I'm not sure how to get the SlObject from it if that's what I need. Any clues on how to get the cell object in the tree hierarchy given that I have the object reference for the com_Object of it?985Views0likes0CommentsInfragistics XamGrid - Get Rows
I'm trying to grab the rows from a XamGrid we have in our Silverlight app, but I'm having some issues. In the Object Browser, I see that there is a native Silverlight method called "get_Rows" that supposedly returns a RowCollection, but I'm not sure how to get this value. I'm using a C# project using the AutomatedQA dll references. The "Grid_LineItems()" function returns the grid from the object browser. This returns an AutomatedQA.scripts.var object, but I'm not sure how to get my grid's RowCollection out of it: Grid_LineItems()["get_Rows"](); This returns a Com Object which I can't cast as anything or I get an exception: Grid_LineItems()["get_Rows"]().UnWrap() I tried casting the var object as a RowCollection, but I get a compilation error saying that I can't convert it to that type: varrowColl=(RowCollection)Grid_QuickplanProject()["get_Rows"](); So I guess my question is: How do I get my RowCollection object that the get_Rows method is supposed to return?1KViews0likes3CommentsRe: "Can not create TestComplete object" Error even after running as admin
So I figured out the issue in case anyone else is going through this as well. This seems to be an issue with Windows 10 andtruly running Visual Studio in administrator mode. Follow these steps to set the "devenv.exe" file to run as an admin, and it should fix the issue: Right-click devenv.exe and select "Troubleshoot compatibility". (mine is located at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 14.0\Common7\IDE") Select "Troubleshoot program" Check "The program requires additional permissions" click "Next", click "Test the program..." Wait for visual studio to launch Click "Next" Select "Yes, save these settings for this program" (this part takes a while) Click "Close" Go ahead and relaunch Visual Studio, and the issue should be resolved!1.2KViews1like0Comments"Can not create TestComplete object" Error even after running as admin
I'm trying to run TestComplete in a C# project in Visual Studio using the AutomatedQA dll's, but I'm running into an issue. I have a project that simply opens IE and sets the URL. Whenever I try to run it in debug mode, I get the following error at the RunTest(...) line: "Can not create TestComplete object" I did some searching and found someone who fixed this by either running the exe in the bin folder as an admin or by running Visual Studio as an admin. I'm able to run the exe as an admin with no issues (it opens IE and points it to the URL), but I still get the error in debug mode. I have my PJS file included in my project and made sure it's getting copied over to my bin/debug folder, I made sure the path is correct, and I added a manifest file to make sure I can't even run debug mode for this project unless I'm running Visual Studio as an administrator. I'm not sure what else to try here. Does anyone have any suggestions of what else could be going on? It's just odd that it's working with the exe but not in debug mode.Solved1.2KViews0likes1Comment
