Smartbear Test Extension in Google Chrome is corrupted
I have been using TestComplete to create automation tests in Google Chrome. Then it stopped connecting to Google Chrome and when I checked the extensions list in Chrome it has a warning on it that reads: This extension may have been corrupted. It will not allow me to Enable it. I tried deleting the extension and re installing it but it immediately had the warning message on it and cannot be enabled. I have also tried uninstalling Chrome and reinstalling it and it did not fix the issue either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.1.9KViews0likes3Commentsdeleting name mapping images / TestComplete record function malfunction
Hi, While developing tests in TestComplete it saves images of each of the elements clicked on the page in the name mapping repository. This can cause the size of the TestComplete folder to very quickly grow to be multiple gigabytes. If the user deletes these images will it have an effect on the name mapping? Also, has anyone else run into issues with the TestComplete record function linking to different objects on the web page than the ones you clicked while recording the tests? I have recorded tests and had this happen multiple times, causing significantly more resources (time, manpower, etc.)to be used to record a successful test, thereby lessening the value of the automated test. Any advice is appreciated.1.4KViews0likes2CommentsName Mapping giving multiple page elements the same name
I have a situation where I have covered a number of pages within one website. Now the Name Mapping seems to be giving the same name to multiple elements on the page. When I map to say button 2, it is giving the path to button 1. So when I initially create a click action on button 2 it defaults to button 1 when I run the test. In the example below I am linking to a textbox which contains the text SanityTestJob Email - 31-12-2012. When I reopen this command it is now linking to a completely different element on the page using the same Alias. Any help would be appreciated on why this would be happening / how to address it. Hi, I tried what you mentioned but I cannot seem to get it to work. In order to get to the element I am trying to interact with don't I need to specify the full path? In the example you gave above it fails because it looks for Aliases.browser.pageAccudeltaPortal.modalUploadFile when the actual path is Aliases.browser.pageAccudeltaPortal.panelPortalApp.sectionFeatInternalUser.modalUploadFile I get the error: Unable to find the object modalUploadFile. See Additional Information for details. Would I need to delete entire layers of my name mapping in order to telescope the Aliases?2.2KViews0likes2CommentsFull String not being returned using DDT object
I am using a DDT object to import locators / data / keywords etc. from an Excel file. I am beginning to have an issue now with the name mapping string being too large and not is not being returned fully. For example, in my file I have: Aliases.browser.pageAccudeltaPortal.panelPortalApp.sectionFeatInternalUser.modalUploadFile.panelModalDialog.formFormHorizontal.panelFormGroup2.panelColSm9.panelSingledatepicker.panel.panelSingledatepickerinput.panelDaypickerDaypickerHorizonta.panel.panelDaypickernavigationDaypicke.vg And when I import the locator I get this: Aliases.browser.pageAccudeltaPortal.panelPortalApp.sectionFeatInternalUser.modalUploadFile.panelModalDialog.formFormHorizontal.panelFormGroup2.panelColSm9.panelSingledatepicker.panel.panelSingledatepickerinput.panelDaypickerDaypickerHorizonta.panel.panelD Does anyone know why this is happening / how to solve the issue? I am currently developing a Keyword driven framework usingJavaScript / TestCompleteand have an Excel file which contains a step number, Description, Keyword, Locator and Data. I am currently reading the data from the Excel file (.xlsx) and storing the data (in this case the locator) in a variable.. I am storing the String Browsers.Item(btlExplorer,"",Browsers.pX64 in a variable called locator. When I then attempt this: locator.Run(https://www.google.ie/?gws_rd=ssl#spf=1); I receive this error: JavaScript runtime error. TypeError. getLocator(...).Run is not a function. This is my getLocator function: function getLocator(x){ var driver; var value; driver = DDT.ExcelDriver("C:\\Users\\Username\\Desktop\\Automation Framework.xlsx", "Sheet1", false); while (! driver.EOF() && driver.Value(0) != x){ DDT.CurrentDriver.Next(); } value = driver.Value(3); Log.Message(value); DDT.CloseDriver(driver.Name); return value; } And here is the function I am running: function openGoogle() { //Launches the specified browser and opens the specified URL in it. getLocator(1).Run("https://www.google.ie/?gws_rd=ssl#spf=1"); } I am new to JavaScript, if you could give me any tips / advice on what is going wrong it would be greatly appreciated.Solved1.2KViews0likes1Comment
