Can't import win32service (python) in TestComplete
Trying to get TestComplete to see a new package that I've installed (win32serviceutil) It is incredibly difficult and fickle to get some 3rd party packages to work with TC, and yet others work seamlessly immediately after being installed via pip. Any help would be appreciated. More info: The above code works. The above code fails Both my PyCharm IDE and TC are using the same compiler (the one in the TC folder) I just don't understand what TC is doing that breaks Python's ability to find packages.2.2KViews0likes4CommentsWhere did the name mapping object spy go in the latest update?
Prior to12.50.4142.7, there were two buttons up in the top bar of TC that were used for object spy-ing. One was just the object spy, the other was used to name map object. The latter seems to be missing in this latest build. Where is it now? Why was it moved?Solved1.6KViews0likes2CommentsRe: WinError 193 after latest TestComplete update, python modules do not work with new update.
Alright, for any poor souls that are as dense as I.... The problem was my local install of Python 3.6 is 32 bit, where as I've been running 64 bit Test Complete... running the 32 bit version of TC allowed my 3rd party modules to work again. Boy oh boy, what a waste of my day, lol.1.8KViews3likes0CommentsWinError 193 after latest TestComplete update, python modules do not work with new update.
After the most recent update to TestComplete (Version: 12.50.4142.7 x64), my python tests are no longer able to use the module `fdb`. This is the exact line of code that breaks: with fdb.connect(dsn='<redacted>', user='<redacted>', password='<redacted>', charset="none") as con: This same line of code works when run through the same interpreter (Python 3.6) via pyCharm on the same machine. I've had to do some pretty dumb stuff to even get TC to see the module in the first place, seen here: from os import sys import os sys.path.append('C:\Program Files (x86)\SmartBear\TestComplete 12\Bin\Extensions\Python\Python36\Lib\site-packages') Without that append to the system path, I get: And, again, I get none of these problems when run via PyCharm on the same machine. I even have PyCharm pointed to the same exact python executable: Any help would be appreciated, I'm shut down until this is resolved. Thanks!Solved1.8KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Can SmartBear stop using private messaging to solicit advertisements to community members?
I'm sure this thread is going to get deleted, but I'll drop my $.02 while it's up. This is a new low for corporate marketing. It's insane to think that a group of SB employees sat down and said to themselves "We should try and market to our customers more by abusing the private messages function in our help board". This is low, this is very low. I suggest you stop it immediately, there's a reason other companies don't do this and, no, it's not because you are the first geniuses to come up with the idea. Look at this: It's ridiculous, and you should be ashamed of yourselves.1.7KViews0likes5Comments
