Object Spy images are blank black boxes
I've been using TC to test my application for a little over a year now. I switchedsetups and recently installed testcomplete on a computer that I remote into. The problem is that the object spy is having issues with taking images of the objects. Instead of showing me pictures of the objects, I seeblack boxes (but the proportions are correct). This problem only occurs for my tested application, not any others that I've tried. Interestingly, if I right-click and select "update from screen" the image refreshes and is accurate. We have multiple PCs for running testcomplete, but this is the only one to have this issue, every other instance of testcomplete can see my application just fine. Has anyone come across this problem, or have any ideas what might be causing it?869Views0likes3CommentsJenkins requires all modules to run a TC test?
Hi all, I'm trying to set up a jenkins TestComplete test suite. I only have the desktop testing module, no mobile or web module. My tests run & pass on my PC, but when jenkins tries to run TC tests on the same computer, I get the following error: Unable to find an activated license for the 'Web Testing' module. What's up with that? I have TC in the latest version822Views0likes1Comment- 1.5KViews0likes0Comments
Python Variable Auto Completion
I have the same question as a previous poster: https://community.smartbear.com/t5/Desktop-Testing/Python-and-IDE-auto-complete/m-p/104937/highlight/true#M3717 I'm switching from a JavaScript project to a Python project and there's one feature that I really miss. var aLongVariableName = Sys.Process("chrome"); aLo If I were to type this into a TestComplete javascript project the IDE would suggest the name of the variable before I finished typing it. anotherLongVariableName = Sys.Process("chrome") ano If I were to write the above code in Python, I would not be offered the name of the previously defined variable. Does the python IDE just not have this functionality, or perhaps if I declare it a special way I could get my auto completion back?Solved1.6KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Unzipping .zip files
Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately it's not very helpful! The information is convoluted, and somewhat inaccurate. Most examples are using 3rd party software (7zip) or in VBScript. There is one example from those links that I've already tried: //Specifies the location of the zip file. var ZipFile = "D:\\Test\\Test.zip"; //Specifies the folder the contents should be extracted to. var ExtractTo = "D:\\Test"; // If the extraction location does not exist, create it. var fso = new ActiveXObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject"); if ( !fso.FolderExists(ExtractTo) ){ fso.CreateFolder(ExtractTo); } //Extract the contents of the zip file. var objShell = new ActiveXObject("Shell.Application"); var FilesInZip = objShell.NameSpace(ZipFile).Items(); objShell.NameSpace(ExtractTo).CopyHere(FilesInZip); fso = null; objShell = null; However it appears as though this was incorrect, because I get an error: "ReferenceError ActiveXObject is not defined". If you have any more specific advice, I would be grateful.2.8KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Remove text from a file?
Thank you for your suggestion! aqFile.WriteToTextFile can do this via overwrite, but what if the original starting text file was, say, "My favorite color is neon orange" and I wanted to remove 'neon', wouldn't the output be: "My favorite color is orangeorange" Because the original string is longer (32 chars) than the string I want to output (27), only the first 27 characters will get overwritten and the last remaining ones will not get touched, right?2.6KViews0likes1Comment
