obj.FindChild takes too long time to search for the child obejct
Hi , I am working on understanding a failure, that has occured in our system. We have this line: Set objProc = obj.FindChild(PropArray, ValuesArray, 1000, True) 'The obj is the Firefox Browser Page object Further debugging, seems that the FindChild Obj takes too long time to search for the valuesarray, and thats the reason behind the failure. How can I increase the time, for the find child operation to complete539Views0likes2CommentsRe: Comparison of two files and edit the difference
Thanks for your reply. I looked into the filecheckpoint, and i see that there are some bottlenecks that prevent me from using it. Both the files that i want to compare are generated runtime and I do not see an option of adding a file to the filecheckpoint on runtime. I am not sure if that option is available in test complete. ( Please correct me if i am wrong) Thanks to you i have started looking at an alternative,https://support.smartbear.com/testcomplete/docs/testing-with/checkpoints/files/comparing-with-variable-parts.html I am not sure, if there are other ways of doing it other than the ones specified in the test complete documentation. (yet again, please correct me if I am wrong) Thanks in advance!1.5KViews0likes3CommentsComparison of two files and edit the difference
Hi All, I am using filecompare to compare the differences in the content of two files. Apparently i am expecting some differences between the files, is there any way by which we could truncate those differences and print them on the console log. Is there any stand in api functionality through which i could acheive it? THanks in advance!1.6KViews0likes5CommentsFirefox Rendering tests
Hi All, Problems with Firefox browser when performing rendering tests. We have two application that we test against the firefox browser. We open the first application in the browser and then take a snapshot of the browser and then do the same for the second application. The problem comes here, when we compare the two rendering images, there is a empty space that comes in the bottom of the browser, which caueses the test cases to fail. When we open the application manually in the firefox browser, we do not see this error. This happens only when we open the application in the browser. Any insight of how to mitigate this problem, or a possible workaround is highly appreciated. If there is lack on information in this post, please let me know. Thanks in advance!1.4KViews0likes1CommentRe: Test Complete Object Mapping different with different executions
I have the following syntax If Sys.Process("msiexec", 2).Form("product*").Exists Then Set qvProcess = Sys.Process("msiexec", 2).Form("product*") Else If Sys.Process("msiexec").Form("product*").Exists Then Set qvProcess = Sys.Process("msiexec").Form("product*") End If End If the above syntax solves the problem that i have, but with a minor setback. when entering the loop statement, the Test Complete tries to wait for the object, and as it will not be there, it throws an error Unable to find the object Form("product*") and then goes to the else statement and finds the object. Is it possible for me to supress the error somehow, or is there any other ways for me to solve this error? Hi Alex, Sorry for the very late reply. Have been busy with a lot of stuffs lately. soanswering your questions, yes i need to interact with the installer's UI. There are settings on installer UI that I particularly need to automate. We already have a base version, say version v1, which is installed through the command line parameters. And then we try to install the latest version say, version v2. This needs to automated, mainly because we want to automate the way the normal user would do.1.8KViews0likes0CommentsTest Complete Object Mapping different with different executions
I have a weird problem, where the object i am trying to access changes between the following two. I have sys.process("msiexec") and sys.process("msiexec", 2), which heaviliy interchanges, when i execute it. Is there any amart way of finding thetype of msiexec process, that is being executed, which would solve the problem that I have. Unable to access the checkbox object
I am trying to perform an upgrade tests. In the upgrade tests dialog, there are 4 objects. The first one is "Uninstall earlier version", which is a checkbox, eventhough the object mapping says Button, with the object mapping of "Window("Button","",1)", the object Type is CheckBox Then we have three buttons, "Back", "Next" and "Cancel", their object Types are Button. The BACK and NEXT button are disabled untill we have checked the "Checkbox" of "Uninstall earlier Version". When trying to access the "uninstall earlier version", the button of "Cancel" is clicked. To be put in more detail, if i consider the "uninstall earlier version" as a button, "mainDialog.Window("Button", "", 1)", then the cancel button object is clicked, eventhough the mapped object name of cancel button is Button("Cancel"). And if i consider it as a checkbox object, i get the "Invalid procedure call or argument", the code for that checkbox goes as follows, If mainDialog.Window("Button", "", 1).wState = cbUnchecked Then mainDialog.Window("Button", "", 1).wState = cbChecked End If Any help on solving this problem is highly appreciated. I am currently looking into the access level of Test Complete on all those machines. The test complete plugin is not a suitable one for my case, as it alters heavily the way that we are executing the test cases. I will post information on this thread, if the access levels work.1.4KViews0likes0Comments
