Re: Multi User access question
Take a look at this link https://support.smartbear.com/viewarticle/75290/ I haven't set Test Complete up on a virtual machine before but this seems to explain it well. Using this information with the information previously provided about using a shared project should be able to get you setup the way you need it.1.9KViews0likes4CommentsRe: TestComplete is getting hanged when i try to spy the microsoft office outlook pop up
I don't believe this is anything that SmartBear can help with. I may be way off here but I believe that Outlook has a security procedure that will prevent any unknown source from accessing that popup to prevent malware from getting around it. Do some research online about that message and you should be able to find a way around it. If you are running an up to date anti-virus that actually communicates with Windows then this message should never come up. A lot of popular software will skip that message if Windows knows about theapplication but in the case of an in house developled application thats not likely to happen. Also if your security restrictions aren't too bad you can tell Outlook to never show that message box but that presents a possible security failure. Other than those options your only other hope may be to see if you can find the MSAA name of thatpopup some other way they using spybut this may just loop back to the first issue of an unknow application accessing that popup. Again I may be way off base but that's what I can gather from my vague memory of dealing with that popup in the past.2KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Unable to rename test
After you choose remove from the menu and that popup window comes up choose delete instead of remove and that will remove the test as well as delete it from the folder on your computer. You will get another prompt telling you that it will be removed from the computer are you sure you want to do this.2.7KViews1like0CommentsRe: PowerBuilder accessibility error
With the help of a co-worker and some more digging around the internet I found what my issue was. I needed the PowerBuilder accessibility DLL (pbacc125.dll). I didn't think I needed this at first because the name mapping did work if I just did it on the applications logon screen. It wasn't until I went to map the main form in the application that it started having issues. However after getting this DLL into the applications folder it is working.17KViews1like0CommentsRe: PowerBuilder accessibility error
I almost forgot to mention that for the form name mapping I gave it the name I wanted then had to add the ?* wild card to the window caption field. This was the only way I found to get the name mapping to work for the form. If I didn't use the wild card I would get a message talking about the name mapping not being unique enough or something like that. I can get the exact message if someone thinks the wild card might be the issue. Thanks again.17KViews0likes1CommentPowerBuilder accessibility error
I'm trying to do some testing with a PowerBuilder application. I'm setting up name mappings in order to be able to work with the data window controls easier. However as soon as I add a name map to the main application form I start getting an error message everytime I try to initially interact with the application. The error is "Error loading library. Please check whether PowerBuilder Accessibility Library can be located in the path." After I setup that name mapping this will happen the first time I try to access the application or it's objects from test complete after opening the application. So if I open the application and try to access the object through the testcomplete object viewer I will get it. Or if I open the application and try to log in through either a keyword or script test. After I get this message once it's fine until I close the application and then open it again. Has anyone else run into this and have any insight on what might be causing this or where to look? Thanks!Solved17KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Data Drive testing over test sequence
Thank you for the reply Colin. I'm new to Test Complete so I just want to make sure I'm understanding what you are saying. So you have a custom script in Test Complete that reads the Excel file via COM and based on each line of the spreadsheet it runs specific tests that could be scripted or keyword tests correct? Additional data is passed to each individual test based on the rest of the data on the same line? This additional data could be data for the test or just a call to another data file like another spreadsheet that contains the data needed for that test? If all of that is correct my last question would be if I have a keyword test with it's own data driven loop and call it from the custom script will it still execute the data driven loop?1.4KViews0likes1CommentData Drive testing over test sequence
Is it possible to do a data driven test over a sequence of tests? By that I mean can onerow of a csv file be used to go through each test in the sequence using the datain each test and then loop back to the first test to start with the next row. For exampleif Ihave one test that just opens the application and logs in with a username and password provided by the csv file. Then go to another test that opens a form and fills in information provided by the same csv file followed by a third test that logs off and closes the application. After that I want it to loop back to the first test and log in with the info in the second row of the csv. I'm trying to accomplish something much more detailed then this example but this gives the basic idea of what I'm hoping to do.Solved1.4KViews0likes3Comments
