ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Recording is not functional in chrome Support got in touch with me and I followed these instructions for both TC14 and TC15 Instructions: 1. Copy the path of the TC installer exe to your clipboard by shift+right clicking the file and selecting "Copy as path" 2. Open cmd as administrator, and paste in the path and add the -cleanup flag (e.g. C:\path\to\TestComplete1493.exe -cleanup) 3. Wait for the process to finish 4. Repeat for the other version 5. Run the installer normally This cleared up any negative side effects from my update/upgrade. Re: Recording is not functional in chrome Case #00493400 Yes I could not update to 15 yet as my test execute will not run properly since its on 14... so I was not ready for 15 due to that. I then decided to go back and run the 14 app and yes I started having this issue. Recording is not functional in chrome Does anyone have a checklist of reasons recording would just stop working when recording a test in chrome? I am aware of the extension, and it is installed into the browser. I made no configuration changes. I ran an update to latest TC is about all I did, and magically recording is not functional now. I already put in a ticket with support but it appears that fell into a blackhole. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks. SolvedPage Unresponsive in browser during recording Basically testcomplete cannot handle recording the clicking of a dropdown that has hundred or so elements in a dropdown list. How do i deal with this? I eventually get a popup that says do you want to wait or close page because its unresponsive. Only happens while recording with testcomplete. Re: FireFox object recognition stopped working after an update to testcomplete Thanks. Yes, I shut down TC, dragged those files over into bin folders and relaunched. Same outcome... is there anything more to it that I might be missing? FireFox object recognition stopped working after an update to testcomplete With FF 87 and TC 14.80 I ran into an issue where only tests ran on Firefox abruptly stopped working. It says Unable to find the following object when executing SetText. This is just for logging into the website. I can use object spy and find the username and password objects in Firefox and it matches my name mapping. So I am confused why it stopped recognizing the object. Anyways I might have to abandon testing in firefox for the time being if I cannot find a solution. I was hoping the updates to FF 88 and most recent TC would fix it and it did not. Re: Does anyone have good examples of the user of Wait in keyword testing Using On Screen Action, method WaitProperty. Parameters entered for method. First Name Input field I am targeting. I am trying to wait for it to load. I thought i was targeting the property by name and the value of the property but perhaps I am missing something. It causes test to fail because object cannot be found. Does anyone have good examples of the user of Wait in keyword testing I keep trying to implement the Wait property instead of using delay as our websites response times are all over the place and my tests keep failing because an object was not available yet. I was attempting to use documentation and I have so far been failing at the implementation of this method. It seems it doesn't apply to all types and I was wondering if there is just a really easy example and explanation that someone with experience could drop here. I am not doing scripting of any kind but rather the operations you drag and drop into keyword tests. I often times try to apply Wait to an object and it just stalls in the playback and doesn't execute at all. I feel like mastering this is of great importance as I can't keep having my tests fail based on timing issues. Anyways any response or help would be great thanks. SolvedRe: Anyone have some really good material for name mapping? Ok I've played around after enabling the Xpath and CSS option for half a day here, and it seems to be a game changer. I am having a much easier time with name mapping, and i ran other tests that were previously running ok and it does not appear to have damaged those tests built on the older settings. This is so far working out really good for me. Thank you. Re: Anyone have some really good material for name mapping? Thanks ill run another project with just xpath and css and see how it works.
