I'm not sure if that's his approach but that's how I have been doing it. The only reason I can do this is because my tests are not too large at the moment. You are correct though. If there are changes made then it becomes a real pain to fix. @ william_roe I would also like to know what you mean by good templates. Mapping has always been giving me a headache since the start. Re: Textnode problem I haven't upgraded to 11.11 yet. I didn't see any update other than a FireFox patch. I'll try updating to 11.11 tomorrow. I also map everything which has worked fine for me but many of my tests fail now because it takes so long for TC 11 to recognize that the objects have been mapped. Hopefully 11.11 will fix some of my issues. Will let you guys know how it goes after the update. Re: Textnode problem Hey prasad, I just wanted to point out that I did not have a speed problem at all when I was on TC 10. It's the exact same test but on TC 11 it takes 2 minutes to recognize that the object has been mapped. My tests ran with almost no delay on TC 10. I'm definitely going to try the suggestions but just find it odd that going to TC 11 would slow down my tests so much. Re: Textnode problem I'm definitely going to have to recommend that scripting should be considered/prioritized. We're strictly keyword testing at the moment. Thanks for the help. Re: Textnode problem So 11.11 fixed the speed issue for you? I'll get my system admin to update it for me. Are you doing keyword testing as well or scripting? Re: Textnode problem I've been mapping manually but neglected to turn off automatic mapping. I'll try disabling that. For the large object trees, have you noticed a decrease in speed? Re: Textnode problem I'm mapping it manually but I have been mapping the whole object tree. When deleting the "stuff in between", are you doing that for the alias only or actual mapped objects as well? I'm not too familiar with extended find. It definitely sounds like what I need to do though. Distributed Testing - Unable to locate project This is my first time doing a distributed test. I asked for help with verification before which I was finally able to do with the help of my system admin. My issue now is that my tests/projects are stored on a shared drive and TC is unable to locate the drive when I have to specify the Project file name. The drive is mapped. Re: [TC11.11] Mapped object moves during playback TC11 appears to be having speed issues recognizing objects. Perhaps this is what's happening to you as well? It takes up to 2 minutes for TC11 to recognize that my objects have been mapped. I haven't found a real solution because setting a delay of 2 minutes for my test seems ridiculous Re: Textnode problem I've only been using keyword testing because that's what was taught during the training. For keyword testing, I run into many problems. I've tried not fully mapping the objects but that comes back to bite me later on. If there are two textboxes and I don't map fully map them then TestComplete might see them as the same object. Do you run into that issue with mapping via scripting?
