Sending error message to log reading SQL I have a scenario in my test where I need to make sure that the field A in a table doesnt save as null. If it does, I want to send an error message to the log. But although, one field is null in my recordset, I dont see the error message getting posted to the log. Instead, the values for that field gets posted as null or whatever the actual value of that field is. Below is what I am using in the script. sub sqltest() Const DB_CONNECT_STRING = "DSN=WRMSDB;UID=***;PWD=***;APP=Test Complete;WSID=**;DATABASE=***;" Set myConn = CreateObject("ADODB.Connection") Set myCommand1 = CreateObject("ADODB.Command" ) myConn.Open DB_CONNECT_STRING Set myCommand1.ActiveConnection = myConn myCommand1.CommandText = "select * from TB_xyz" set acttest= mycommand1.execute acttest.movefirst while not acttest.eof if acttest.fields("onefieldA").value = null then log.Error ("field is null"), t.fields("fieldB").value else log.Message acttest.fields("fieldA").value , acttest.fields("fieldB").value end if acttest.movenext wend myConn.Close end sub SolvedRe: Updating string in XML File with current time+10 minutes hidmiscannon: The file that I need to update is XML file and not .txt and hence I have to referoShell.Run "notepad " & strFileName. But XML files I think dont support this -While Not strFileName.IsEndOfFile() - it being for .txt files. One being ascii and other binary. Thanks Updating string in XML File with current time+10 minutes I have a scenario in my testing where I have to open a XML file in notepad , update the latest time + 10 minutes and save it. I am running into errors here for reading the file. I know the updating string part works as I already tested that in a separate sub (). Issue is how to get to the part ofreadiing the opened file and save the changes. sub OpenFile strFileName = "C:\mytestfile.xml" Set oShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell") oShell.Run "notepad " & strFileName While Not strFileName.IsEndOfFile() s = strFileName.ReadLine() str = "cronExpression"" value=""0 18 28" if instr(s,str)<>0 then Set re = New RegExp re.Pattern = "[0-9][0-9] [0-9][0-9]" re.global = true mh=hour(now) mm = minute(now)+15 if mm>59 then mh = mh+1 mm = 10 end if a = cstr(mh)+" "+cstr(mm) str = re.Replace(str, cstr(a) ) Log.Message( str) else log.Message xxx end if WEnd end sub Thanks Run history doesn't display test name or ID's This looks like a bug in ALM complete. I have some scheduled nightly runs and in the morning when I look at the run history, the results wont display the test name and the testID's. At times, I dont want to look at all the failures just drill down the failures for batches which pertain highest importance. Someone else seen this before? Thanks. Chrome displaying TestComplete Plugin Unsupported message Hi, After upgrading to Chrome 43, I noticed this message saying - This site uses a plugin(SmartBear TestComplete10) that will sooon be unsupported. Patch for 43 is already applied and I dont have any issues running my tests in chrome 43 thus far. But needed to know if anyone has seen this issue and hopefully this is being worked on by SmartBear. Thanks Re: TestComplete 10.60 compatible with chrome 41? Hi, I am seeing object identification issues with Chrome 41 and TestComplete 10.60. The obects are identified incorrectly during run time.I have an open ticket with TestComplete and waiting to hear back from them. There'e been 4-5 days now. Hoping to get it resolved soon. Thanks. Re: test complete unable to recognize properties of a new tab Hi, outerHTML has the value as: <label for="Ad Hoc CustomerID" class="checkLabel">Ad Hoc Customer</label> Re: test complete unable to recognize properties of a new tab Hi Tanya, Updating to 10.60 resolved the issue for identifying new tab objects but the issue now is that the checkboxes are not recongnized now. It just takes the whole label in account and cant get down to the checkbox level. Is there a set up that is missing here? I have the Chrome extension installed. Re: test complete unable to recognize properties of a new tab Hi Tanya, Thanks. The test complete version I have is 10.50and chrome version is 41. But I didnt see anything for Chrome v.41 in the link attached. I can try downgrading the existing chrome version to that of 40 but I am concerned about the existing tests that I created in 41 - they might not work. Please suggest.
