text color on listview objects
I am working with a normal listview and I am trying to verify the color of a specific object from the collection. The color should be defined as the forecolor (so I am told by our development team) but I can't get any good data to return. Currently, I am using a jscript to iterate through the collection just trying to grasp at straws. I know that the color of the 19th item, 7th sub item {wItem(19,7)} should show as red. I can get it to return the proper text to me, but when I try to pull the color or forecolor property, I get blank back. Any suggestions? I saw a post about this from a long time ago (2005) on sqaforums.com but, they weren't really of any help.1.5KViews0likes1CommentWorking with ListView objects
I am doing some work on selected items from a list view but I need to identify an item and subitem within the selected collection. I attempted to use the subitem collection but when i define an item within that collection, it simply tells me "Wrong number of arguments or invalid property assignment. // JScript Code if (i=0;i<ListView.SelectedItems.Item(0).SubItems.Count;i++) { Log.Message(ListView.SelectedItems.Item(0).SubItems(i)); } else { Log.Message("No Sub Items"); } The above will properly return the SubItems.count (as 11) but when attempting to select and item from that collection, It returns an error. I have also attempted this with .text on the subitem as well to verify that I wasn't just returning anything unexpected. My purose is to iterate through the subitems to make sure that they exist and are valid. Any suggestions?Solved1.8KViews0likes2CommentsCalling Scripts in keyword tests as verification
In a series of my tests I am calling a script (code provided below) that verfies that a file exists in a specfic location. When I run these tests individually, by opening the test and running them with the run button at the top of the frame, they run perfectly fine. If I run it in the project suite, the verification fails even if the conditions are correct for the checkpoint within the script. I have another question for anyone who has used scripts within their keyword tests. Is there a way to pass object data from a keyword test to a variable in a script? I want to pass the index number of the object that I am clicking (or name of an object) to a variable in a script so I can identify case that I need to run against that object. function verify_Checkout() { // Run function to set filepath // define_FileInfo(); filepath = "C:\\dmslocal\\bridge\\smithfield_st_bridge"; filename = "\\decks.dgn"; // Test Debug - Check for filepath settings // Log.Message("File we are looking for\: " + filepath + filename); // Initialize the fileflag variable fileflag = aqFileSystem.Exists(filepath + filename) // Test Debug - Check for fileflag state // Log.Message("fileflag is " + fileflag); switch (fileflag) { case null : // Variable null'd - big issues Log.Message("Error has occured due to no state change") Log.Error(error1) break; case false : // Return false - file was not checked out Log.Message("File has not been found. Validate manually.") Log.Error(error2) break; case true : // Return true - File was checked out successfully Log.Message("File found Successfully. Proceed with Verification.") Log.Checkpoint("Success!") break; default : // Catch-all Error Log.Message("Nothing Written. Failed Test.") Log.Error(error1) } }Solved1.9KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Windows Shortcuts and JScript
Thanks for the relpy James. It appears that the those VK codes for the windows keys are working but the vk codes for the other mappable keystrokes are not working. Trying to use VK_KEY_E, VK_KEY_R just throw an error. I'm not sure if that is due to them not being mapped to the VK name for them or not. Once I took a look at the Microsoft KB article for them, I used the direct code (0x45, 0x52) then it worked as expected. Thanks for your help.598Views0likes0CommentsWindows Shortcuts and JScript
I am trying to create a script for all common windows based shortcuts. This is mainly going to be purposed at giving my windows specific positions like the Win + Left and Win + Right for the anchoring. I also want to use this for testing how interaction with Explorer ( Win + E) and Run (Win + R) work with our applications while focus on our application. What I am trying to do right now is do this with LLplayer so i don't have to worry about where the input is happening. I am constantly getting a JScript error because my key format is apparently incorrect. I have searched for a list of valid keys but only found examples of vk_shift and mouse clicks. Is there somewhere that would have a complete list of valid keys? Also, Is there anyone who has made a script similar to this? my current code is pretty simple and looks like this: Log.Message("Log origin"); LLPlayer.KeyDown(Win, 50); LLPlayer.KeyDown(Right, 50); LLPlayer.KeyUp(Right, 50); LLPlayer.KeyUp(Win, 50); Log.Message("Location of window moved aligned right")3.7KViews0likes2CommentsMicrosoft ToolStrip and button interaction
I am trying to code a test that interacts with some Microsoft ToolStrip objects and detects some of their properties. So far, I have been rather unsuccessful with doing this. I am using JScript and using the following logic: if(Aliases.Program.frmMain.ToolStripContainer1.ToolStripContentPanel.tStripOuter.ToolStripPanel.ProgramToolStrip.wChecked(3)) { Log.Message("The viewer is turned on. We are going to turn it off"); //Clicks the 4th item of the 'ProgramToolStrip' bar. Aliases.Program.frmMain.ToolStripContainer1.ToolStripContentPanel.tStripOuter.ToolStripPanel.ProgramToolStrip.ClickItem(3); } When I run this test, It just tells me that the object is not checked regardless of the objects actual state. If i run the ClickItem command on it's own, it works fine; Clicks the correct object. I have tried several other methods of identifying this object and its state as well and I am out of ideas. Any suggestions?3.8KViews0likes1CommentLog issues
I'm having an issue with my distrubted testing reporting back to test complete improperly. When I run the job, which runs its tests completely successfully, it returns a proper log on the test machine but testcomplete shows "Cannot run the remote project." All tests in the log on the remote machine(s) show that all tests finish perfectly fine but only testcomplete shows an error. I'm running TestComplete 9.30.3373.7 as well as the same TestExecute. Any suggestions?5.8KViews0likes2CommentsThe window is invisible and thus cannot be activated
I'm getting this error when trying to SetText(); to a vbobject. The object is clearly visible on screen. I have included screenshots of the panel which contains the object as well as a screenshot of the objectspy view on the object. These do not change when i get this error.7.8KViews0likes1Comment
