Re: Loc of .exe is diff from com where TC is to com where Test Execute is being used
I am not trying to pass parameters to the .exe, I am trying to talk to an .exe that is in a different location. The computer where the .exe is located is c:\dir\subdir\loc and the the computer where Test Execute is trying to run has the .exe located in c:\other\subdir\loc. How can I still use my location on the Test Complete computer and still have it run on the Test Execute computer?748Views0likes0CommentsLoc of .exe is diff from com where TC is to com where Test Execute is being used
Created scripts using TC 8.0 and trying to execute them on computer where Test Execute is. The .exe file that is being called is in a different location from the one computer to the other. How can this be handled?16KViews0likes3CommentsRe: Switched computers and cannot get ole object calls to work
The first item worked. I tried what you suggested for the second item, however it is still asking for a license. Both computers that use the floating license had the required service restarted and the problem still exists.1.2KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Switched computers and cannot get ole object calls to work
The last computer had this line of code (and it worked): InternalP3Call = Sys.OleObject("P3Query.QueryUtils", ""); When we loaded up a new computer and tried to use this, the only thing that happened was an exception was thrown listed as: TypeMessageTimePriorityHas PictureLink Exception8:33:27Normal and the remark listed was: Invalid class string: cannot obtain ClassID. Is there more setup stuff that needs to be done for the ole object to work properly?1.2KViews0likes0CommentsSwitched computers and cannot get ole object calls to work
I switched computers that had a sys.oleobject call that was working. Copied the project over and now that line is throwing an exception. Looked through the help and was having a difficult time. The coder that helped me with this no longer works here and I don't know if there was other items that needed to be configured in TC. Running TC 8.0. Do not have a good C++ background to know what the dll was doing. I know from the Object Browser we were able to put in the ole object and see what calls I could use, but I cannot see that either. Thanks, Mike18KViews0likes7CommentsRe: Cannot see object in object browser window (new OS and new TC version)
It looks like that was the issue. Thank you so much. I know at one time I saw a dialog asking if I wanted to run the program as an administrator and then I was able to see the tested app. Regarding the information that you had listed: "As for the tested application, it looks like it can only be launched under a specific account (the one you originally used), so I recommend that you keep using that account." Is there any way (other than modifying the Windows UAC settings) that the UAC message asking 'do you want to allow the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer' can be bypassed by Test Complete? That is the only reason that I am using an alternate account to log into the tested app. Thanks again.990Views0likes0CommentsRe: Cannot see object in object browser window (new OS and new TC version)
Test Complete is being run as an Administrator to Windows. The computer is connected to a domain, but the user who is logged in is not a member of the domain. The account used to run the application under is NOT the same as the one used to log into Windows. When attempting to run the application under test as the account that is logged into Windows, one of the 'do you want to run this program' dialogs comes up. Changing the RunMode for the tested app to a user who is a member of the domain allowed the application to start without having the 'do you want to run this program' dialog to appear. Currently I am having difficulty getting the application to run like this. It is listed in the processes, but it does not fully appear. At the times when it used to show up, it was not listed in the Object Browser. When running the application with the RunMode set to 'Simple', the error log states "TypeMessageTimePriorityHas PictureLink Unable to run "C:\PonemahTesting\DailyBuild\PPP3.exe".9:42:27Highest"990Views0likes0Comments
