Re: How to get Child object of an object coming from FindChild function
Hello Heloise, Thank you for your response and for the details. I'm glad to know that you have already found a solution for your problem. If you encounter the same problem with the FindChild method once again, please try to use a different set of properties to do the search or increase the number of used properties. If this does not help, please contact us via this forum or via the Contact Support web form and send us the problematic project suite so that we could reproduce the problem. Thank you.1.5KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Testing Telerik Tree View controls
Joanne, So does this not include WPF?-http://support.smartbear.com/viewarticle/31621/ No, the list of supported Telerik controls does not include WPF controls. TestComplete supports Telerik controls only for Windows Forms, Silverlight and ASP.NET applications. Do you mean that I can or cannot use the native Items property in this case? (or the other example)? Yes, to test your control, you can try using one of the workarounds I mentioned in my previous post: either work with your control by using its native properties and methods (they are listed in the .NET, private, protected and public categories in the Object Browser), or make TestComplete recognize your Telerik TreeView control as a standard WPF tree view control. If you have any additional questions or need anymore assistance, please let us know. Thank you.3.2KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Fails to clickTextbox of Edit class when disabled
Hello Rajat, TestComplete cannot simulate user actions over disabled controls. As a workaround, you can modify your recorded script in the following way: obtain the coordinates of the disabled text box relatively to its parent control and simulate a click over the parent control at the specified point. For example, the following script obtains the coordinates of the text box control relatively to its parent form control and them simulates a click at those coordinates: ' Obtains the text box Set edit = Aliases.SampleApp.mainForm.textBox ' Obtains the parent control that holds the text box Set parent = edit.Parent ' Determines the coordinates of the text box center relatively to the text box's parent control x = edit.Left + edit.Width / 2 y = edit.Top + edit.Height / 2 ' Simulates a click Call parent.Click(x, y) Please let us know if this information does not help or if you have any additional questions. Hello, Are you testing a WPF application? Please note that TestComplete does not provide support for Telerik controls in WPF applications. If you are interested in implementing special support for the Telerik TreeView control for WPF applications, you can vote for this control on the TestComplete Feature Survey page of our web site: http://smartbear.com/products/qa-tools/automated-testing/survey/ To access tree view items by their indexes in your tests, you can use the native Items property of the Telerik TreeView control. You can also try to command TestComplete to recognize your Telerik TreeView control as a WPF TreeView control by adding the Telerik TreeView control class name (Telerik.Windows.Controls.RadTreeView) to the WPF Control | Tree view group and the Telerik TreeView item class name (Telerik.Windows.Controls.RadTreeViewItem) to the WPF Control | Tree view | Tree view Item group of your project's Object Mapping options. You can find more information on this in the Recognizing Custom Controls section of the WPF TreeView Support Help topic. Please let us know if this information does not help, or if you need anymore assistance. Thank you.3.2KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Why does name mapping forget?! After software restart.
Hello David, The problem you describe can happen if recognition parameters TestComplete uses to map your button are not stable, for example, if one of the properties used to recognize your button changes its value every time you restart your application under test. Could you please open the Name Mapping editor in TestComplete and check what properties and values are used to identify your button? You can try to change your button's mapping criteria as described in the "Modifying Mapping Criteria" section of the TestComplete Help system. Please let us know if this does not help. Thank you.1.4KViews0likes0CommentsRe: How to run same script on multiple windows simultaneously?
Hello Siddharth, I understand what you want to do. To test an application that works with multiple clients simultaneously, like your auction application, you can create a distributed test that is a test that consists of several parts that are simultaneously executed on different computers and interact with each other. You can find detailed information on creating distributed tests in the "Distributed Testing" section of the TestComplete Help system. You can also go through the "Distributed Testing Tutorial" and "Synchronizing Distributed Tests" articles and watch the "Distributed Testing With TestComplete" tutorial video on our web site. Please let us know if you need anymore assistance. Thank you.1.3KViews0likes0CommentsRe: TestComplete some time does not identifies the Silverlight objects
Hello Dhana, Unfortunately, it is difficult to provide you with some other but basic help without actually seeing your application under test or knowing your environment specifics. That is why, I still recommend that you contact our Support Team directly by submitting a ticket via this web form, send them your application under test and your test project so that they could investigate the problem properly and provide you with some decent solution. i have a doubt in the fiveth point in Adding the Application topic, which explains about the application ID The "Preparing Test Projects for Testing Out-of-Browser Silverlight Application" Help topic contains the instruction on how to get your Silverlight application ID. Have you tried following that instruction? What step of the instruction caused difficulties? By the way, is your Silverlight application out-of-browser? Is it executed in a web browser? Thank you.624Views0likes0CommentsRe: TestExecute takes a while to launch
Hello Shubhangi, The problem you describe is expected if you have multiple virtual slave machines running on a single physical machine. And the more slaves you add, the lower the performance of each particular slave gets and the more time it takes for TestExecute to be launched. It is good that you have already found a suitable workaround for this problem. Good luck with your testing.974Views0likes0CommentsRe: How to run same script on multiple windows simultaneously?
Hello Siddharth, Could you please specify for what you need to simultaneously run the same script on multiple browsers and what kind of comparison you want to perform? Do you need to perform some sort of load or stress testing of your web application? Maybe, you should take a look at LoadComplete, which allows recording actions performed over web pages and simulating those actions with multiple virtual users working simultaneously.
