"WinFormsObject" in object name when runing TestComplete script
Hi, I'm using Testcomplete 8.7 to automate some tests on a .NET WindowForms application and I’m having some troubles with TestComplete\TestExecute to detect some objects. The problem is that, for example, I have an object mapped as: Aliases["AppName"]["AppNameForm"]["m_panelClientArea"]["m_splitContainerBottom"]["SplitterPanel"]["NavigerResept"]["m_searchControl"]["m_txtSearch"] But when TestComplete or TestExecute runs it’s detecting the same object as: Aliases["AppName"]["WinFormsObject"]("AppNameForm")["WinFormsObject"]("m_panelClientArea")["WinFormsObject"]("m_splitContainerBottom")["WinFormsObject"]("SplitterPanel", "",1)["WinFormsObject"]("NavigerResept")["WinFormsObject"]("m_searchControl")["WinFormsObject"]("m_txtSearch") The ["WinFormsObject"] is being added to the object aliases, so TestComplete is unable to recognize the recorded and the execution fails. This doesn’t happens every time. Sometimes the application is launched and the names are as expected. Each automated test as the following structure (Test Items): Parent KeywordTest to do a DB restore KeywordTest to start the app (TestApp) and perform the login KeywordTest to execute the test (this is the main script) KeywordTest to close the app Can you help me to overcome this problem? I'm having some dificulty to get my propertycheckpointsto work in mykeyword test. My application is a .net windows application (not web) and at a certain point it prints 2 files. As I need to check the content of the files what I'm doing is using a PDF printer (Bullzip V8.2.1.406) to save the prints as PDF files so can that check some of the content. In my project properties I checked the '*' window on the accepted windows list under "Open Applications\MSAA". With that and configuring the accessibility options in adobe acrobat reader I'm able to detect the fields inside the PDF files and choose the fields I want to check. As Bullzip can have the possibility to open the file after it has been saved, first I tried to have thecheckpointswith the 2 files open at the same time. This way I was getting several "Ambiguousrecognition" errors. So I decided to close both files and then open and check one at the time. What is happen right now is that whenever I run my script, the property checkpoints fails every time. If however I run just the checkpoint (with Run Select Operation) the checkpoint passes. One other thing that I notice is opening the PDF file and in my TC script if I double click on my checkpoint (getting the edit property checkpoint window) if I try to click on the button "Next" it gives me an error "Unable to find object with the name ....". Pressing OK and repeating the click on button "Next" I'm able to jump to the properties of the checkpoint. So, I would like some help understanding if this is due to some missing TC configuration or if has to do with my script steps and they need to be changed. My configurations: OS: Windows 7 TestComplete: 8.60.665.7 Adobe Acrobat Reader: 10.1.4 If you need screenshots or steps I can send it. Thank you, Luis21KViews0likes0Comments
