Re: Issue in Entering the numeric value into one of text box.
Like Alexei suggested use the .keys() method which simulates using the keyboard to input the values. I would try re-recording setting the text fields and using the mouse to change between the three fields and type in the values in each of the input fields.921Views0likes0CommentsRe: Test Complete getting Hanged while spying modal windows
There is an article for Testing Modal Windows (this article is about TestComplete 10. I would see your in software help for TestComplete 9) If the window that you are trying to test requires user action, try seeing if you can map your window from the Object Browser. Once it is mapped you can try to call it to the front or check that it is visible. Once your modal window is visible you should be able to perform any actions on the visible window.774Views0likes0CommentsRe: Testcomplete problems with List of Values, radio buttons?
I was going to suggest what Tanya suggested because the "Keys" method invokes what an actual keyboard would do. Where as, the "SetText" method utilizes the API and sometimes bypasses event handlers. For the tests that we run at my work, "Keys" is better. There are mouse events are in this article here.1.7KViews0likes0CommentsRe: how to check if an item is present in the Listview
I think maybe what your looking for is Checkpoints - see http://support.smartbear.com/viewarticle/55270/ You can setup checkpoints many different ways. Regions, Property, Object, Table, etc. The Region checkpoints grab a screenshot of a specific region, you can 'mask' areas of unimportance to your check, then have it record the resulting image. On playback, when it gets to the checkpoint, it takes new screenshots, and compares the required pieces and with the pixels and color variation to determine if the checkpoint passes or fails. For Object or property, it checks if the required field, value, etc. exists or does not exist and you get a fail or pass depending on your requirement. Hope this gives you another option for your testing.1.5KViews0likes0CommentsRe: how to use same mapping for different run time objects.
I think Checkpoints could help you out a lot. There are Property Checkpoints which let you check for different properties available for an object or child object. This may be the simplest to use. Then there are Region Checkpoints where you can capture an image, mask parts of it, compare the stored image with the newer image from playback etc. http://support.smartbear.com/viewarticle/57039/ Since it sounds like you are needing the comparison more using a property checkpoint or region checkpoint may be the simplest to either script or keyword. If you use Keyword tests, you would get the object up to the point just before it changes, set the initial checkpoint, perform your next action which would change the form, then set the follow up checkpoint, then setup if statements after the initial checkpoint with the checkpoint as part of the requirements, have it perform the action, set another if statement with the follow up checkpoint as the requirement, then your next actions. With script tests, I would functionalize the checkpoints have it return true or false, setup the initial checkpoint, setup an if statement with the checkpiont referencing the initial checkpoint, perform an action on true, exit program or loop on false, setup the follow up checkpoint, and repeat above. Hope this helps.1.7KViews0likes0CommentsRe: How to Click on Menu items from SyncFusion Grid
You may need to possibly re-map the control. or even map the children of the control. You would use the Object Browser find the control, and either map the parent as a separate item then map the children under that item or even re-map the entire process tree's children. This may also help with full object recognition. Because sometimes some of these controls are recognized as window classes when they are menus, menu items or sub menus.1.5KViews0likes0CommentsRe: how to use same mapping for different run time objects.
In a VB 6 program that I test, there are a few different objects like that, the 'technically' have the same properties except for one item and that is the label caption attached to the two objects that happen to be radial buttons. I am not sure if this helps you since you are dealing with table cells, may be use the columb and row, or some other property that is unique to each cell. if nothing else maybe re-record it using low level. I think this generates x, y coordinates that would be unique.1.7KViews0likes0CommentsDelay or pause in keyword tests
Can anyone tell me why testcomplete could be terminating an AUT while the playback is on a "Delay"? The AUT technically is running in the partially in background and foreground. It has a data conversion protocol that runs bringing up the stored data up to the current version. But Windows periodically declares it 'Not Responding', and because of that TestComplete kills the 'Not Responding' AUT even though we are just waiting for the AUT to finish processing the data to the current version. CPU percentage when the AUT is running this convert goes over 20 percent some times on my AMD Athlon X3 450 (3.2 Ghz) running Windows 8.1 - 32 bit. With a lot of data being read and written over our local network.1.1KViews0likes1CommentRe: Does anybody use Keyword Tests?
My coworker and I use both scripts and keyword tests. For some things when we need more control we may record a keyword test, convert it to a script then make the fine tuning changes we need when it is a script. I like using name mapping and keyword tests with debugging turned on during playback so we can pause or utilize the breakpoints more effectively.2.4KViews2likes0CommentsRe: Not recording anything???
You are hopefully running the latest patch or release of TestComplete that you are Licensed for. Next would be the patches located here for Internet Explorer - in the article for preparing web browsers. Third would be make sure the programs are at the same priviledge level. Not being run at elevated priviledges, etc. Test Project Configuration Although the next option would be to make sure the setting for recording "ONLY" on tested applications is not set.1.3KViews0likes0Comments
