Re: BarCode Scanner Capability with Keys?
Thank you, David, for your help! Really appreciate your time to help me with this hurdle. Looks like no one else has had a similar question regarding barcodes. I have been switched off of Automation for the short time being as our company needs to get a software patch out but when I am back on automation I will let you know if this solved my problem. Again, really really appreciate how fast your support team gets back to our questions. Thank you for making my experience with Test Complete an extremely positive one!1.3KViews0likes0CommentsRe: BarCode Scanner Capability with Keys?
Hi David, Here is a sample of barcodes. We would just need to give focus to the panel we would normally use to scan our barcodes into and all I need the application to do is enter the barcode with a method like keys (there could be a better way??) Some samples of barcodes are: ^-TSIT/.3OfP7"c]9r2q\ ^?lh16-i.mMYp/Mv&J?/% ^Z-Mi+Sv0bjTY/EJUQ#<[ ^T)?T8C4NWcPj*8iMC$D* How would I tell the program to enter something like above without throwing errors with all the special characters? Here is what I tried to do: var barcode = ^^T)?T8C4NWcPj*8iMC$D* Aliases.SoftwareName.frmConsumable.62d223ac-0224-425c-a9b5-8640f2d13173TopLevelControl.m_BarcodesPanel.DockPanel(); Aliases.SoftwareName.frmConsumable.z2d223ac_0224_425c_a9b5_8640f2d13173.d9c6e1ea-c1c8-4458-b47e-c82f201c6f52.d9c6e1ea-c1c8-4458-b47e-c82f201c6f52Container.ucBarcodeMultiple.grpBackground.grdBarcodes.Keys(barcode); Hope this helps solve my issue (:1.3KViews1like0CommentsDrop Down Check Box Control Help
I need Drop Down Check Box Control Help! I have a control on my form that won't properly record/playback AND it won't allow me to access the object directly with keys as space bar isn't enabled to check the box off (see the attached image for what I'm talking about). Using x,y co-ordinates won't work properly on playback. Could anyone point me in the right direction for what I need to do (besides low level recording) that will help me with this issue? Thanks ahead of time!13KViews0likes1CommentRe: How to access Grids with object mapping
Woo hoo! Figured it out! I was looking for my plugins via "Change" in the Uninstall section of the program but what I needed checked off in Test Complete 7 was: "Tools > Default Project Properties > Open Applications > MSAA > *" For those of you who don't respond to your own posts when you succeed at something, you're only part of the problem. Cheers!545Views0likes0CommentsHow to access Grids with object mapping
I am working with an application that uses Janus Grids. I am using the object method to manipulate controls (instead of using x & y co-ordinates that can constantly change) and I'm finding that if I click into each cell, my tests work fine but if I don't initially click into each grid it can't detect any of my NameMapping. I've tried to use the RefreshMappingInfo() with no luck. I have gone into each individual name that is mapped and enabled "Find this node on any level of NameMapping Tree". I have the page that it's looking for on my screen and it still can't find these already mapped objects. Help please? I've tried .SetFocus, .Keys, .Focus, .Click, .OnClick, etc. Here is a snippit of what I'm working with (as you can see I've even tried introducing wild card characters into the code): function Contact_Activity_Note() { Aliases.ApplicationName.frmACActivity.WinFormsObject("*").TopLevelControl.MainRibbonTab.Ribbon.TopLevelControl.m_NotesPanel.DockPanel(); //this code goes to the appropriate panel and sets focus Aliases.ApplicationName.frmACActivity.z2d223ac_0224_425c_a9b5_8640f2d13173.z9e9cf71_0eda_4724_a41e_8454693411b5.z9e9cf71_0eda_4724_a41e_8454693411b5Container.aslUCNotesGrid.grpGrid.grdData.Click(); //this section is attempting to click the grid to give it focus Aliases.ApplicationName.frmACActivity.z2d223ac_0224_425c_a9b5_8640f2d13173.z9e9cf71_0eda_4724_a41e_8454693411b5.z9e9cf71_0eda_4724_a41e_8454693411b5Container.aslUCNotesGrid.grpGrid.grdData.JNSDX.aslUCEdit.edtTextbox.TextBox.Keys("test"); //this code section is attempting to type into the grid that it can't see }10KViews0likes1Comment- 802Views0likes0Comments
