OS update of PC where License Manager is running
Hello, We have a Floating License activated in a separate PC running Windows Server 2003. Our SysAd is planning to update the same PC to a Windows Server 2008. Do we need to deactivate currenlt Floating License and activate again when the PC is already updated to Windows Server 2008? What needs to be done? Thank you very much. Hello to all. I hope someone could help me with my inquiry. Is there a way to clear the Project Logs programmatically? Currently I have a script (macro) in MS Excel where after some processing of information, I invoke a pre-created TestComplete script via command-line. The TestComplete application is automatically started when called from the command-line. A specific routine in my TestComplete project is invoked. After execution of the routine, TestComplete is then automatically closed. Then the cycle goes on for several iterations depending on the information/data I have in MS Excel. The problem I see is that, the Logs increases per iteration. And this makes my TestComplete script folder increase in size. This is the reason why, if possible, I would like to clear the project logs for each iteration before closing the TestComplete application automatically. Thanks in advance. Hello Tanya, Thank you for the prompt reply to my question. I will try to deactivate the license and transfer the installation of our License Manager to a different PC. I'll inform you of the result. :-) Thanks again. Regards, Ruel2.4KViews0likes0CommentsTransfer License Manager to a different PC
I hope someone can help me on my query. After buying 1 Floating License of TestComplete 8, I installed the License Manager in the same PC where I installed TestComplete 8. Now, I need to transfer to a separate network, and I also need to transfer all my TestComplete scripts to another person in current network. Since my PC contains the License Manager PC, I need to uninstall this and transfer it to a different PC/Server in current network so that other PCs with TestComplete may still run after I leave the current network. Is my understanding correct that in order to transfer the License Manager to a different PC/Server, I need to perform the "Deactivate License" procedure according to the SmartBear website? Thank you. Hello Matthias, I think what you need to do is to create screen capture for each dialog of you application then save the image in Stores.Regions. Just make sure to create a naming convention for your reference images so that during execution, you'll know to which image the current dialog will be compared to. Next is for you to create a function that will get the image capture of the current dialog of your application and get the corresponding reference image from Stores.Regions based on the current dialog. Then will compare the two images and report the result. Finally, create a script that will start your application that you will be testing, loop until all dialogs of the application is opened sequentially. Then for each opened dialog, call the function for comparing images created earlier. I hope this helps. Regards, Ruel1.4KViews0likes0CommentsRe: License for Testcomplete
Hi Irina, Thank you for the clarification. I would like to clarify one more thing. I already installed the demo version in my PC (with Windows 7 English OS). Just right now, I tried installing the demo version on another PC (with Windows 7 Japanese OS) but during activation, it was unable to successfully finish due to the message that the activation key was already used. How can I try TestComplete if it will work on a non-English OS? I need to make sure that it will work on different OS Languages in order for my boss to approve the purchase of TestComplete. And if it would work, does it mean that in order for us to execute our scripts, we need to buy a license for every OS and OS language where we will be executing our tests? Please advise. Thanks.490Views0likes0CommentsRe: License for Testcomplete
I would like to ask regarding TestExecute. If we buy the Enterprise edition of TestComplete, does it mean that we will also be having a license and installer of TestExecute? Or do we need to purchase TestExecute separately? Another thing is, If only one engineer will be developing test scripts using TestComplete, but scripts will be executed in several PCs, is my understanding correct that we can buy just 1 node-locked license of TestComplete Enterprise Edition but will be able to execute the scripts on different PCs at the same time? Thank you very much!2.2KViews0likes0Comments
