Profiling an application that has to run for long duration
I am profiling an application which needs to run for long duration at a stretch (at least for 3 days): The application behaves fine when it is started, but after running for 2-3 days, it becomes very sluggish. Its UI responsiveness drops noticeably. This is the problem I am looking into. Could somebody suggest me what all performance counters I should be profiling and all. The application is a WPF standalone application which communicates with a WCF server (a seperate module, located at a remote location) for retrieving data and updates a hell lot of UI elements (like third party chart windows - around 10 of them, and also a few listviews ...)13 years agoPlace AQtime QuestionsAQtime Questions10KViews0likes1CommentRe: Problem with XCeed Datagrid
There is one more issue - I try to create a generic function which would accept the row and column index and return the text displayed on the cell. I came up with function GetTableControlCellValue(TableControl,RowNum,ColNum) { PropArray = new Array("ClrClassName", "WPFControlOrdinalNo"); ValuesArray = new Array("DataRow", RowNum); var Row = TableControl.WPFObject("DataRow","",RowNum); PropArray = new Array("ClrClassName", "WPFControlOrdinalNo"); ValuesArray = new Array("DataCell", ColNum); var Col = Row.FindChild(PropArray, ValuesArray, 5); return Col.WPFControlText; } This works ONLY IF I don't rearrange the rows (by sorting) or columns (by dragging the column headers and repositioning them). How to overcome this issue - i.e. have a way to get me the cell text even if the table rows and columns are reordered?1.4KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Problem with XCeed Datagrid
Well, after a few trials I replaced tableControl = AllServicesCard.tableControl; with tableControl = AllServicesCard.FindChild("ClrClassName","TableControl",2); and things seem working, but I have no clue how the objects in each of the two cases are different!1.4KViews0likes0CommentsProblem with XCeed Datagrid
I am trying to read the values in the cells of an XCeed datagrid (basically, the control I am using is one that is derived from it). Please take a look at the attached image to get the object hierarchy I am looking at. I am trying to locate a cell in the following ways, but none of them works: ------------------------------------------ var IE,AllServicesCard, tableControl; var RowNum = 2; var ColNum = 1; PropArray = new Array("ClrClassName", "WPFControlOrdinalNo"); ValuesArray = new Array("DataRow", 1); IE = Aliases.iexplore; AllServicesCard = IE.Find("ClrClassName","AllServicesCardMainPage",20); LogInfo(AllServicesCard); tableControl = AllServicesCard.tableControl; var Row; Row = tableControl.WPFObject("DataRow","",RowNum); //Row = tableControl.Find(PropArray, ValuesArray, 5); var Col = Row.WPFObject("DataCell","",ColNum); var caption = Col.WPFControlText; ---------------------------------------------------------------- As you can see, I am trying out both the 'Find' method and the WPFObject route, but none of them works. The error I get is like 'the object doesn't support the property or method'. Please help. Thanks in advance.11KViews0likes3Comments- 1.9KViews0likes0Comments
Re: Generic way to locate an XBAP in IE
You are right - I posted it wrongly. The way I am doing it as below: var IE,Page1; var PropArray = new Array("WndClass"); var ValuesArray = new Array("Page1"); // Searches for the window IE = Sys.Process("iexplore"); Page1 = IE.Find(PropArray,ValuesArray,100) here 'Page1' is the name of the class as well as the value set to the 'Title' property of the page in xaml. Basically all I need is to derive WPFObject("Page1","",1) from Process("iexplore") (as per the attached object hierarchy).1.9KViews0likes0CommentsGeneric way to locate an XBAP in IE
I am looking for a generic way to locate an XBAP window (a WPF 'Page' class) within the IE window. My problem is that the WPF page might be contained directly within the IE window, or it might be nested within some other control running inside the IE window. I wish to use the same script in either cases (as I have no clue on the exact hierarchy above my XBAP page) Please take a look at the above screenshot, where the XBAP ('Page1')is a child window inside the 'process("iexplore")' object. However the following code to locate it doesn't work. The variable 'IE' gets populated correctly, but the next statement results in "The object with the specified attributes does not exist." error. function FindXBAPWindow() FindXBAPWindow() { var IE,Page1; // Searches for the window IE = Sys.Process("iexplore"); Page1 = IE.WPFObject("Page1","",1) // Processes the search results if (Page1.Exists) Log.Message(Page1.FullName); else Log.Error("The object was not found."); } Please help me on where I am going wrong.
