Re: TestComplete v15.56 software saving string variables with Base64 encoding
rwood_certWe have had exactly the same issues lately including crashes when accessing TestComplete on a VM with different user profiles which totally locked up the VM when TC opened. Fortunately its fixed but it took months of frustrating "support" which took us in circles many times! We were about to purchase ReadyAPI and thats stalled due to various issues with that as well. To confirm 15.57.2.7 we have not seen variables being corrupted but we need to do more testing. I am beginging to question the quality of testing for the latest releases.246Views1like0CommentsCorrupted Project and Keyword Test variables
Hi has anyone experienced this issue? Variables values being corrupted into a something that looks like Base 64 Eg Name_local is appearing as .??B64??.:U2FtIEpvaG5zb24= If you Base64 decode U2FtIEpvaG5zb24= it is "Sam Johnson" which WAS the original value. This has broken hundreds of tests and critical project variables. Scripts were not affected. This has happened since upgrading to15.57.2.7 or the version before that. We use github/DevOps so hopefully we can find when this has happened and rollback. However we neeed it resolving. I'd warn everyone to be very careful with the latest versions. We will try and rollback the product as well. I have used TestComplete for over 10 years and lately within the last couple of years it's become very buggy and lacking support. We will be looking at other options just incase things do not improve. We dont care about the cost we just want a stable product.724Views4likes11CommentsRe: Corrupted Project and Keyword Test variables
We have opened ticket00574549 for this. We're worried other projects will be impacted. The quality of TC releases has become poorer over the last 2-3 years and we want to have a conversation with our account manager to get some feedback from the Product Manager. We dont want to make further investments if this is now the norm. Its dissapointing to see, as I've used it for 12 years and its never been as bad as this. I'd stake my reputation on TC but not now.503Views3likes0CommentsRe: TestComplete v15.56 software saving string variables with Base64 encoding
I've been getting the same since upgrading to V15.56. That was actually a fix to a serious bug we were having and now have hundreds of string variables now stored and overwritten by corrupted garbage with breaks hundreds of tests stopping us testing. https://community.smartbear.com/t5/TestComplete-Questions/Corrupted-Project-and-Keyword-Test-variables/m-p/259412#M112759 We are going to use a Notepad++ macro to find all the variables in the various files and use a conversion utitlity to try and set them back to their correct values. We're getting the same error. Also attempted to run TestExecute and TestComplete manually on the test agents and was unable to, it just hung. The Azure DevOps pipleline logging was identical.1.3KViews1like0CommentsRe: Clickitem not working since update to 15.51.4
Subject to my previous post with the click followed by clickitem no longer works after updating to TestComplete 15.51.18.7 !!! I have had to reactivate my original workaround using the keys method which will not detect changes to list items so only temporary. Can you please fix this issue as it’s key functionality. I am getting increasing dissatified with the level of issues with testcomplete as I am having to spend an increasing amount of time in test maintenace rather increasing coverage.12 months agoPlace TestComplete QuestionsTestComplete Questions668Views1like0CommentsRe: Multiple Issues with TestComplete 15.51.4.7
We also had our tests break due to the clickitem issue. I'd used "keys" to workaround which I wasnt happy with. Support offered the solution of "click" followed by clickitem("option-text") which worked.12 months agoPlace TestComplete QuestionsTestComplete Questions824Views0likes0Comments
