How to control Zehpyr Scale report sort order
Hi there, I am using the report "Test execution results by test cycle". I use a Custom Query to select based on all the cycles within a folder. That folder contains all the cycles associated with the project I am reporting against. My problem is that the cycles are then shown in the report in a seemingly random order. In fact I cannot figure out why the order shown is being used. All the cycles are there but they seem jumbled up. My goal would be to show the cycles in the report listed in in alphabetical order. Any ideas? Thanks JulianSolved732Views0likes2CommentsRe: Add Build Number to a Test Execution
We had this exact requirement as well. We got a workable solution with a custom field on executions. The one problem we have is that these custom fields cannot be marked mandatory. This means we are reliant on the test engineer remembering to add the build number. Experience is they often forget and then we lose traceability of what was tested on what build number.761Views0likes2CommentsHow to find empty test folders
Hi there, We are using folders to organize our test library and our test cycles. Our testers are asked to add tests to reflect their current assignments in these folders. I would like to be able to find all folders in the tree that do not have any test cases in them. Ideally this would be a report. Currently I have to expand all folders and click each one in turn in the GUI. That way I can find out what cases we are still waiting to see drafted. Is this possible? Many thanks.Solved704Views0likes2CommentsRe: What is the best way to set up tests?
Hi there, We have been in a similar situation... We just started using Zephyr Scale in anger recently, having moved from another test too. What we did (and seems ok so far!) is: We have concentrated all our tests within a single Jira project. Otherwise it was too confusing to find things sprinkled around. Define a consistent folder structure for the Test Library repository of reusable tests. The value here is being able to find a test afterwards. Zephyr Scale seems quite good at finding things within folders so the tree hierarchy helps us. My fear is we may have too many folders / subfolders caused by having a folder for each variant of testing - eg testing something by web interface, command line, API... We then defined an Active Projects area where we hold test cases just for the "in progress" project that are new. Idea is to make them easier to find, and then sweep them into the reusable Test Library when we complete a new release. We then build Test Cycles comprised of picking reusable tests from the Test Library, and new tests from the Active Projects area. Hope this helps...1.5KViews1like1CommentIs it possible to track and report on test cycle progress over time?
Hi there. When we run tests, they often take some time to fully execute. On a daily basis we currently track in Excel the % complete a tester reports on that day. This allows us to monitor progress over time. We would like to replace this with something integrated into Zephyr Scale, and that can be mined to show a that daily progress value, for a time period, by test case. We could use the Zephyr Scale reports, but we also have EasyBI. It seems to me we would need to either: a) have a custom field in Zephyr Scale where the tester can report their % complete as they run. This would still be progress. b) be able to query the progress % for any given day from Zephyr scale, and retrieve it for graphing in a report. Is either of these possible? Can Zephyr Scale return historical values for a) its progress %, or b) a custom field that we create? Many thanks.406Views0likes1Comment
