Stable VM licensing for License Manager

Hi,

our License Manager for TestComplete is installed on a virtual machine. We already received a working license file but the License Manager stopps working after the virtual machine fails over. Our VMware ESXI hosts are slightly different in installed CPUs (dual Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5620 @ 2.40GHz, dual Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5645 @ 2.40GHz).

Really strange is that the License Manager kept working for a week after the latest failover.

[edit] We found out why it kept working for a week. It was an online failover but we restarted the virtual computer today due to Windows updates [/edit].

Can we please get a license file for the License Manager and TestComplete that includes support for moving VMs?

Regards

You need to contact support for that:

Good suggestion.  Please make that request in the Features Request forum.

To clarify, the specific problem of a licensing clone error caused by a particular VM moving about can be resolved with a support case.  We'll get the license working for you again but, unless you prevent the migration, the problem will continue to occur.

The underlying restriction with the licensing system remains.  Your request for change goes to the ears of the Product Manager and her team and they are reading the Feature Request forum.
