SAP Setting for automating - Client Side/ Server Side
In the TestComplete Documentation - Preparing SAP GUI for Testing, We have steps on settings "on Client Side" and "on Server Side".
Q1) Is it mandatory to make changes on both client and server side ?
Q2) If we make changes on both side, Do we have an advantage of accessing the elements easier ?

Hi Valla,
Yes it is mandatory, not only for TestComplete, but for any automation tool expected to interact with the SAPGUI in an automated fashion.
( I have tried working around it, it is required)
Yes, absolutely, it makes accessing objects very easy, automation can be done in record and replay fashion.
What SAPGUI Version do you plan on automation? I have worked with SAP750 and personally used SAP770 both with TestComplete.

Thanks for the quick response Matt. I'm working on SAP 740. To confirm on the answer "does making changes on Client side and server side" - Both are mandatory ?
