Migrate NameMapping from version 7 to version 9

Good afternoon staff,


 I am trying to Migrate over NameMapping from version 7 to version 9 is not working too well.

 the error that occurs is attached.

 Can someone help me.

    Hi,





    Let me quote the Merging Name Mapping Files article:



    The format of Name Mapping files in TestComplete 9 is other than that used in previous versions of the product. So, if you need to merge a Name Mapping file of previous versions of TestComplete, first you need to convert this file to the current version. For this purpose, open the project that contains the needed name mapping scheme in TestComplete. TestComplete will ask you whether to convert the project suite to the current version of TestComplete. Click Yes. TestComplete will convert the project suite’s files, including the name mapping file, to the format supported by the current TestComplete version. After that, you can merge the Name Mapping file to the desired project.



    Please note that you cannot merge Name Mapping files if they have different sets of configurations.





    So, follow the steps below to merge your Name Mapping files:





    1. Download TestComplete 9.0 one more time (you will get a newer build), uninstall the current version and install the new package. The build number of the newer version is 9.0.1312 - please verify this in the Help | About dialog after the new build is installed. The new build of TestComplete 9.0 fixes some issues connected with the Name Mapping feature. Please note that if you miss this point, the structure of the Name Mapping file can be corrupted.





    2. Open your project that was created in a previous version of TestComplete, this action will migrate this project to TestComplete 9, the Name Mapping file will be migrated too. Close the project.





    3. Open the project you are working with and merge your newly converted Name Mapping file with the Name Mapping file from the current project.





    However, if you've migrated your project to TestComplete 9, and now, you don't have any copies of the original project, please contact us via our Contact Support form and send us your TestComplete 9 project suite you are trying to work with - we'll try to restore your Name Mapping file structure in our lab.
