Log files not exporting

Log files not exporting

Hi all,

 

I am trying to write a script with the log file being exported at the end of testing.  It isn't exporting the file and there are no errors.  I used exactly what is posted in http://support.smartbear.com/viewarticle/55128/ for Jscript and nothing.  I added it to the test items list as the last one and still nothing.

 

Any ideas as to what is happening?

Try using that export code in a small script and see if you get the log if you just run that script.

I tried that.  It doesn't do anything.

Are you getting a log on the screen?

What do you mean?  You mean is a log being generated?  Yes.

Are you using the project path in the export?  Maybe you don't have write access to the drive it's going to. Try exporting to your desktop or your documents folder or somewhere like that.

I am writing to the same directory that the TestComplete files exist in.  I have full access to the directory I am saving to.  If I didn't wouldn't there be an error?

I would hope so, but I do the same thing and I've never had problems with the log being missing so I'm suggesting things that I would do if any kind of file was not where I thought it should be.

It's not that it isn't where it should be.  It's not getting exported at all.  The only log that exists is what is automatically created and then nothing.

 

I've even tried my local in case it didn't work with network address and it isn't exporting then either.

 

Without being able to export logs, this is becoming less of a practical solution

You should contact support for help with this.  We have been able to export logs since TC version 8 so I know the functionality is there.
