Is anyone else experiencing extreme slowness in TestComplete
When trying to:
Update Name Mapping Images
Finding objects on the screen
Or doing anything with the playback
I am experiencing extreme slowness.
Something as simple as
Obj.SetText("123") is taking about 5 seconds.
Updating Images at taking about 10seconds
and finding objects, are taking about 15 seconds?
This has been going on for about a month. I didn't do anything to my computer, I believe this is due to an update. Thoughts?

Not entirely sure it's an update. However, if you are using Extended Find a lot in your NameMapping, this does put a performance hit on object recognition.

Why automate? I do automated testing because there's only so much a human being can do and remain healthy. Sleep is a requirement. So, while people sleep, automation that I create does what I've described above in order to make sure that nothing gets past the final defense of the testing group.

All i remember is one day its happy trying to find objects, then the next it is almost crashing each time with no alterations to the name mapping.

Ok, that's been out for a WHILE now... unless you updated to that version within the last month, that's most likely not the cause.
So, let's take a look at your NameMapping tree to see if you have the Extended Find flag checked on a lot of objects. Can you post a screenshot of your NameMapping?

well I thought that might have been the case, and yes i have been experiencing this slowness for about a month now. I just thought it would be fixed right away.
I can create a brand new project. Click Add Object. Drag and find the textbox for example I want. TestComplete freezes for about 10 seconds then finds the object.

Found the solution:
Just create a back up of your Name Mapping Object and merge with it again. After deleting your data. This solved it for me.
