How to avoid deleting code when updating API skeleton

Hi,

I wish to use Swagger to create a API skeleton to my project and create stubbed functions within the generated API. However, I also wish to be able to update the API without having to manually enter all of my stubbed functions in the updated API. Do you have any experience of how to bypass this issue? Please feel free to share.
