"Permission denied: connect" error in soapUI 5.6.X
I am getting java.net.SocketException: Permission denied: connect while testing SOAP web service pointing to Local.
i have updated -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true in SOAPUI.vmoptions as well.

Where are you pointing the call? Is it behind a VPN or something. Is that place reachable from your workstation? You could try to connect that place through telnet to see whether firewall openings are good.
