comparing two test steps

Hi , I am new to soapUI. I have a question regarding comparing the results between two test steps.one is a rest request the other is a jdbc one. Rest request returns the value of Get people count where as JDBC request returns the value of number of people in the database. I would like to add an assertion to make sure whether both the results or same or there is a mis-match. any help would be appreciated.

    Which version and edition of soapui are you using? You may need use the responses of the required steps and then do the comparison. Groovy step can be used for the same.

      The ability to be able to edit a script when in debug mode would be very useful.  Nothing too complicated, but being able to make a basic change to a line of code before stepping into it would be a really nice feature.
