Unable to add assertion
Hi,
with a very simple project, I am trying to add assertions to my SOAP requests. When I clicked on the + icon, the dialog opens, but all is shown is Contains. All the others types are missing. Also, I cannot select any option on the left.
Working with SoapUI 5.2.1 on Win 7 64. Logs files attached.
Anyone can help me on this?
Thanks

I see tons of errors in the logs that I cannot interpret. That's why I already attached them in my original post.
Thank you

I am trying to do exactly what's in the tutorial video, but the tool behavior is different for me. At 3:15 in the tutorial, the user clicked on the Add icon and the dialog is shown with all possible options. When I do the same (on my version the Add icon looks like a green + sign), the dialog opens but with only one option "Contains" available. All others are missing, even if I click on Property Content category on the left side. Actually, clicking on any category doesn't do anything for me.
Thanks for your help

java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.eviware.soapui.plugins.auto.factories.AutoImportMethodFactory
Looks like it is having some issues while loading plugins as it says certain class is not found.
And from the logs, it appears that you are using 2 plugins. I still believe that this should not have impact on the issue that you mentioned. If you are ok, willing to try, then remove those plugins and try out the same case and post your findings.
There are lot of users who started using SoapUI 5.2.1, the same as you mentioned, and I see none of them reported this. And I believe there is no chance that it can't be reported as assertion is crucial feature, but no reported.
I still believe that there could be some environment issue.
By the way, was the project build on the same version of soapui or created earlier? Otherwise would you also like to try a fresh project and see if the issue can be reproducible?

Rao.

Ok, I completely uninstall SoapUI from my PC, then rebooted, then re-installed it without the hermes plug-in (that was checked by default). From there, I created a brand new SOAP project from a WSDL, then I went to the generated test case request. I clicked on the green + icon to add an assertion, then I had the exact same problem. The pop-up window opens, all categories on left side are displayed but when I click on any of them, nothing happens. I am stucked with the type Contains that is associated to the Recently Used category.
Then googling about the error in the log, I saw this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/31409653/classnotfoundexception-after-updating-to-soapui-5-2-0
I did what this guy did and yes, no more error in the log, but still incapable to add assertions in my project. New log attached.

I have 5.2 on linux 64 bit, but did not have such problem.
Since you can't step forward, do you consider to downgrade to lower version that you had earlier to proceed? Also would you mind sharing project to see? Does any of your colleagues/different computer have same issue ?

Hi,
were you able to resolve this issue? I have the exact same problem with SoapUI 5.3.0 on macOS Sierra (10.12.4).
Attached is a screen recording which demonstrates the problem.
Cheers
Pascal
