Why can't I select an empty directory when trying to import a GIT project through Import VCS?

When I try to import a GIT project through the Import VCS menu item, I can't select a directory to put it in. I click the button to browse and select a directory, but even after selecting a directory the directory field is empty, and even with the credentials and the repository location it won't import the project.

    Hi Eornstead,

As far as I remember, you need to work with a composite project file in this case. The requirement is that the project needs to be at the root of the Git repository. Please check this.

In addition to this, we have a product feature improvement to add the possibility to use projects located in sub directories of the Git repository. I’ve added a vote to it based on your request.
