ReadyAPI - Why is there no debugger in the script assertion window?

We have several types of assertions for testing, one of which is a (groovy) script assertion. Why does the groovy script assertion window not have a debugger? It is needed to test our assertion code. Otherwise, we have to copy the code to an IDE and test it there.
