Avoid Multiple Users Editing a TC

Is there a way to avoid multiple users to edit a test case at once? I found that this causes a loss of data. Is there a way to know that a user has the test case open? Can editing be locked while another user has the test case open?

Hi Alyssa, unfortunately none of those things are possible.  The limit of what we can control is done with Zephyr permissions - who can edit and not, etc. - and does not help in your scenario.  I would always double-check with SmartBear Support just in case I'm wrong!

The way I work, so I don't have this issue and others caused by users, is to do everything in Excel.  I circulate an import template with guidance on how to complete.  Everyone can work in that file without issue and when it's ready, I clean-up as necessary, adding whatever else I need in Zephyr before importing.  I find this works best, enabling me to keep the structure in Zephyr as I want it.  Sometimes users ask how to edit/create test cases in Zephyr, or they just tinker, and invariably it leads to more work for me to put things right.
