What's wrong with "RecordIndex out of Range" ?

Hello,

I am using TestComplete7.5 for automation test.  Recently I faced an issue, could you give me some suggestion,  thank you very much!

When launch TC, sometimes prompts an error dialog showing "RecordIndex out of Range",  the TestComplete project could not open

until this error dialog is closed.   I wonder what is wrong with it,  and need  do some other configuration?

  • Hi Jenny,

If you're using version 7.50 or 7.51, please upgrade to 7.52, as the issue could be fixed in it.

I'd also suggest checking whether the issue exists in the latest TestComplete version, which is currently 8.70.You can get a free trial here.

If the issue persists, please follow the steps below to collect the troubleshooting information:

    1. Clear the contents of the following folders:

    C:\Program Files\Automated QA\TestComplete <ver>\Bin\Logs

    C:\Documents and Settings\<UserName>\Application Data\AutomatedQA\TestComplete\<ver>\Logs (Windows XP)

    C:\Users\UserName\<AppData>\Local\AutomatedQA\TestComplete\<ver>\Logs (Windows Vista and later)

    2. Launch TestComplete and open your test project.

    3. When the error occurs, activate the error dialog and press the CTRL, ALT, SHIFT, D, M, and P keys simultaneously to generate an error report.

    4. In the error report window, select the Don't terminate check box and then, click the Don't send button.

    5. Zip the above folders and send the archive to our Support Team for investigations. It would also help if you could send your project suite so that the team could check the issue directly.

    Thanks in advance.
