Unable to install upgrade of TestComplete as previous installation not finished.

Can anyone help as I am in a loop of hell. I have tried to upgrade TestComplete to 15.79.5 but every time is says 'The Previous product installation was not finished correctly. The current operation ...

I had the same annoying issue too! As an example, from the command prompt, locate your installation file and type in either

C:\>TestComplete1579SLM.exe --clean

or

C:\>TestComplete1579SLM.exe -clean

I can't remember if it's one or two dashes before clean.
