TFS 2010 Integration Pain - Multiple commit windows

I am working with a client who is looking at integrating TC with TFS 2010.  We connected the SCC Provider without an issue.  When recording a new test we get a new commit window for every single file (i.e. 10 files = 10 commit windows).  It seems to be an design flaw because even when you choose "Add to Source Control" it actually does a commit instead of an add.  It is pretty painful to watch because it forces you to commit individual files rather than add a complete change set.  The effect is that they will kick off multiple CI builds which will fail because they are missing critical components to the test running.  Is there any way to have TC just add it as a pending change and let the user choose to commit when they are ready (like you would in Visual Studio)?



PS - the forum search function is really lacking - would like to be able to focus my search on a particular forum area (i.e. General TC Discussions).

    Hi Colin,





    TestComplete does not have special support for any source code control systems including TFS Version Control. Our tool works with all systems using the generic Microsoft SCC API via corresponding providers. Messages shown for every file are displayed by the SCC provider used by TFS Version Control.





    However, thank you for pointing us to this inconvenient behavior. I have registered your request in our database and we will try to improve this behavior it in one of the future releases of the tool.





    Please note that some CI systems (e.g. Automated Build Studio) allows setting up a delay between updating files in a storage and launching a build. Probably, the system you use also can do this.

    What MSSCCI function is called when files are added to the solution (i.e. SccCheckin or SccAdd)? 

    I have registered your request in our database and we will try to improve this behavior it in one of the future releases of the tool.


    What is the release velocity for TestComplete?  With Telerik I know I get a new release about three times a year with the opportunity to access interim builds.  I want to get a sense of how long it takes for issues to be resolved once reported.

    TFS can do this but it removes the ability for us to easily identify who broke the build.  I would rather see if you can address the MSSCCI interaction first.

    What is the release velocity for TestComplete?
    Major releases of TestComplete appear every year. Also, we release minor updates every 2-3 months.

    Can you ask the developers? Knowing that I can follow up with the Team Foundation Server product group to get official guidance from them on SCC provider interaction.



    Thanks for the product history - it's more the future I am interested in though to understand how quickly you resolve design issues, bugs and roll out new features.  Sounds like we've only got one chance to see significant design changes to get included.

    Any progress on this subject since your last post almost a couple of months ago?

    Me as well have a client waiting for a fix in order to move ahead with the integration between TFS 2010 and some large TestComplete projects.

    I have some questions about test complete support on the following items:


    -          Does TC6 support 64 bit .Net Frameworks?


     

    -          Does TC7 support Firefox version later than 3.5?


     

    -          Does TC7 support IE8/IE9 in native modes?


     

    -          Does TC7 support .NET ?


     

    -          Does TC7 has no integration with TFS 2010 ?


     

    -          Does  TC support the various mobile interfaces examples:  (Android, Blackberry, iOS)?


     

    If TC 7.5 support the above? Then any support with Test complete latest versions?

    But is there anyway that i can get correct answer for :


    • Support for 64 bit .Net Frameworks (application designed on 64 bit .NET Framework)

    • And IE9.0 can we test on Native mode?


    using Test complete 8.50


    I verified for this info in your sent link. But i could not find any.
