TestExecute 11 is too slow to find elements in Chrome 45

Hi all,

after updating to TestComplete 11 and TestExecute 11 most of our tests fail because TestExecute (which is used on virtual machines to execute the tests) does not reliably find all the elements. The test almost always fails, but always on different lines.

TestComplete (which is used on my local machine to create and analyze tests) works perfectly fine.

Before updating to TestExecute 11 (and Chrome 45) there was no problem at all.

I ran the same test with the same version of our software on the same virtual machines to compare it. Before the update no problem, after the update hundreds of bugs. The tests are rather useless as I need hours to analyze he results instead of 15 minutes to half an hour.

I use a quite big Namemapping with extended find enabled. Almost all elements have unique identifiers.

TestComplete 10 and TestExecute 10 had no problems with this.

Am I the only one with this problem?

That's why I tried to avoid updating TestComplete at all, as there are always big problems with the new version.

But as TC 10 does not support Chrome 45 I unfortunately had to.

Best regards,

Joachim

  • Hi jsc,

I’ve heard about a similar issues. Could you please check if a third-party Chrome extensions, like AdBlock, are installed and enabled on your computer? Is it possible to temporarily disable them to check if they affect this performance issue?

      Thanks!

I checked that and there are only google-Extensions installed: Google Docs and Google Docs offline.

As I did not install them, I think they are installed with Chrome.

I disabled them and started a test.

I will come back with the result as soon as possible.

      • BTW, did you update to TestExecute 11.1 or 11.0?

Chrome 45 is supported inly in v. 11.1.
