You might want to look at getting just a general programming book for your chosen scripting language.
Additionally, Falafel does offer some excellent texts. Since you're interested in the scripting side of things, I'd highly recommend
TestComplete Made Easy - ScriptingThere's one review on that page, however, I would counter it that, if you need tutorials and "walk-through" guidance it's a good book.
