Technicalities about OCR in TestComplete

I was trying out OCR functionality in test complete it works in certain cases it did not work for some what are the defaults types it supports and how is the specified type is being recognized?

Also in the example new font type being added in the script, This is the new font which is not already there in the system we are introducing it newly. How does the OCR system know or how does the OCR technology uses this new font information and read text from the given Image.
