Set Variable Value with OCR

I am using OCR to test the return values on a ChatBox dialogue screen. What I am wanting to do is extract part of the Chatbox conversation and put it in a variable however this does not seem possible with OCR

Does anyone know how to do it? I can do standard scripting with Set Variable Value and extract Onscreen property but these functions are not supported with OCR,
