Removing from search results behaviour

I recently tried to remove a function using search first

TC Version: 15.42.9.7

steps to reproduce:
1.We search using the function name - eg "TO BE DELETED"
2. We have our search results on the "search/replace results" window:

3. Press "del" on a selected element
4. Window asks us - "The selected elements will be removed. Do you want to continue?"
5. I press yes to this

Now I have a question regarding the expected behavior - should it just remove it in the "search/replace results" window, or should it delete the code itself too? 

Just curious cause I intended to remove the code, but did not achieve what I wanted and came here to double check.
