It looks that the problem is that the parameter is of Oracle's varchar2 type. There was a similar problem discussed (http://smartbear.com/forums/f74/t84119/oracle-via-adodb-and-odbc/) and the only piece of advice that I have at the moment is to try to play with the ADO parameter type.
